🌕 The Harvest Full Moon.

Ripeness, Change & the Turning Season

This Saturday, September 26th, we welcome the Harvest Moon, also known as the Corn Moon.

This Full Moon falls in Aries, opposite the Sun in Libra. Aries is bold, independent and motivating, while Libra reminds us that we live in relationship with others. Together, there can be a lovely tension between following our own path and considering the people who walk alongside us.

And I will be very clear here — I am not an astrologer!

I use astrology in my own life and in my work, but if you asked me to decipher all your transits and houses and whatnot, I would probably look at you as though you were bonkers. 😂

What interests me far more is what I call the Seasonal Lens.

Where does this Moon fall on the Wheel of the Year?

What is happening in Nature around us?

And what might Nature be showing us about ourselves?

Because this Harvest Moon arrives only days after the Autumn Equinox.

We have crossed that moment of balance between light and dark, and now the days begin to noticeably shorten.

The growing season is coming to an end. Birds are beginning their migrations. Seeds are scattering. Leaves are changing colour. The garden is shifting from producing and growing towards releasing and returning.

Summer is letting go.

And whether we notice it consciously or not, I think many of us feel that shift too.

For months the energy has been outward.

Growing. Doing. Creating. Going places. Longer evenings. Gardens exploding. Windows open. Bare feet.

And now something begins to draw us back in. Not all at once.

Nature rarely seems to work like that.

It happens slowly. A colder morning. Darkness arriving a little earlier. The first leaves gathering on the ground. Suddenly needing a sweater when yesterday you didn’t.

Until one day we realise that the season has changed.

And perhaps something in us has changed with it.

That’s why I love looking at the Moon through the season rather than trying to find one definitive spiritual meaning for it.

Nature gives us something tangible to work with.

We can simply ask:

What is happening around me right now?

And then become curious about where that same movement might be happening within us.

There is something about this time of year that always makes me think about ripeness.

You can look at an apple on a tree and know when it’s nearly ready. Pick it too soon and it hasn’t had time to become what it was going to become. Leave it too long and you’ve missed the moment.

Our lives aren’t really all that different. Things ripen in us too.

Sometimes it’s obvious. We’ve worked towards something for months and finally there it is.

But sometimes the harvest is much quieter.

Perhaps you’ve become clearer about something. Perhaps a decision that felt impossible in spring doesn’t feel quite so impossible now. Maybe you’ve grown a boundary, changed your mind, found your voice, discovered something you want more of — or realised you’re simply done with something.

And we can be so busy asking ourselves what’s next? that we don’t stop long enough to recognise what is already ready.

Because something being ripe doesn’t automatically make it a harvest.

At some point we have to reach out and gather it.

And while we’re doing all this gathering, the birds are beginning to leave.

I love watching that shift. Somehow they know.

The light changes, the temperature changes, something tells them that the season they’re in is ending and it’s time to move.

And off they go.

Meanwhile, we humans can receive seventeen signals that something in our lives needs to change and still think, Mmmm… perhaps I need another sign. 😂

Maybe there is something you’re feeling pulled towards.

Or perhaps there is something you’ve known for quite some time that you’re ready to leave behind.

Not because it’s terrible. Not because you have to burn the whole bloody thing to the ground.

Simply because the season has changed.

Nature does this all around us without making it mean that something has gone wrong. The leaves change. Birds leave. Seeds scatter. Daylight disappears a little earlier. And the garden gets a little wilder.

Actually, considerably wilder.

There comes a point in autumn when Nature seems to stop giving a toss about looking tidy. 😂

Seed heads lean sideways. Leaves blow everywhere. Things tumble over each other. The garden that looked lush and organised a few weeks ago begins doing entirely its own thing.

I rather love that.

There’s something freeing about being reminded that life isn’t supposed to be perfectly managed.

Maybe we can loosen our grip a little too. Leave room for something unexpected.

Follow a curiosity. Do something simply because it brings us joy.

Spend a little less time managing our lives and a little more time actually experiencing them.

And perhaps that’s also why this change in season can feel so noticeable in our bodies.

The rhythm that suited us in July might not suit us now.

The days are shorter. The evenings cooler. The natural world is beginning to pull its energy inward.

Nature doesn’t try to preserve summer forever. Why do we expect ourselves to?

Changing our rhythm doesn’t mean abandoning ourselves.

Sometimes adapting is simply learning how to remain ourselves while the world around us changes.

Because we’re standing at that point right now. Summer hasn’t entirely disappeared.

Autumn hasn’t completely settled in. We’re somewhere in between. And perhaps we don’t need to rush through that.

We can simply notice.

Notice what’s ripe. Notice what’s changing. Notice what we’re being drawn towards. Notice what we’re ready to leave behind.

And maybe allow ourselves to move with the season rather than fighting to stay exactly where we’ve been.

Because Nature is beginning to turn inward. Perhaps we are too.

🌕 A Little Full Moon Magick

And because I don’t believe all Full Moon rituals need to be solemn, serious affairs involving seventeen candles and setting another bloody piece of paper on fire… 😂

This one involves bubbles.

Yes, bubbles.

A little breath. A little release. A little intention. And a lovely reminder that ritual can also contain play, wonder and joy.

If there is something you’re ready to let drift away with the changing season — and something you’d like to welcome in its place — grab your bubbles and come play beneath the Harvest Moon with me.

Happy Harvest Moon, Gorgeous Souls. 🌕🍎🍂

May you recognise what is ripe, gather what is yours, and trust the season you are actually in.

As the years have taught me , the old saying is so true. This too shall pass and what’s happening today is only change. A part of life that comes to us all. And yet when something else comes along it passes. Always. Through it all there is a reason and when we let go we will be gently given the answers. Namaste wise one

Summer is letting go. 🍂 Can you feel it? The lig Summer is letting go. 🍂

Can you feel it?

The light has changed. The evenings are arriving earlier. Leaves are turning, birds are gathering and Nature is beginning that slow, delicious turn inward.

Then on September 26th comes the Harvest Full Moon. 🌕

And maybe she’s not asking:

What’s next?

Maybe she’s asking:

What is already ripe?

What has quietly grown in you this season?

What are you ready to gather?

And what might you finally be ready to let fall?

I’ve written a new Harvest Moon piece through my Seasonal Lens, with journal prompts and one of my favourite slightly ridiculous rituals.

It involves bubbles.

Of course it bloody does. 😂🫧

🍂 Tomorrow, the Wheel turns. For one delicious mo 🍂 Tomorrow, the Wheel turns.

For one delicious moment, we stand at the threshold between seasons.

Before rushing into autumn, what if you stopped long enough to look back?

At the summer you actually lived.
At what surprised you.
What challenged you.
What delighted you.
What quietly grew while you were busy doing other things.

You don’t need a perfect harvest.

You only need to recognise what is already in your hands.

🍂 What grew in you while you were busy living? Th 🍂 What grew in you while you were busy living?

That’s the question sitting at the heart of Mabon: The Gathering.

Not what did you accomplish?

Not did summer go according to plan?

But what grew?

A boundary?
A truth?
Some courage?
A delicious bit of weirdness?
Maybe something you didn’t even realise was a harvest until now.

I created a 24-page Mabon journey filled with reflection, journalling, ritual, harvest magick and a five-card Tarot/Oracle spread.

Because before we charge into the next season…

perhaps we should notice who arrived here. 🍎

Today is exactly one week before my birthday, I to Today is exactly one week before my birthday, I took a leap and received a “channelled” tattoo.

Was I sceptical? Abso-frigging-lutely. I wouldn’t even see the design until two hours before my appointment.

Then the image arrived—and I fell completely in love.

An apple, lavender, chamomile, rosemary, hare’s-foot fern and glorious Amanita mushrooms, all woven together beneath the stars and the sweep of the Milky Way.

Every piece holds meaning. Together, they form a tiny wild universe—a botanical talisman of nature, healing, memory, resilience, cosmic wonder and a wee bit of Fae mischief.

And now it rests above my heart, exactly where it belongs.

@inkspired_.tattoo.studio , you are an extraordinary human. This was so much more than a tattoo—it was a soulful, intentional experience and the perfect birthday gift.

A little wild.
A little witchy.
A little cosmic.
A little Fae.
And entirely me. 🍎🌿🍄✨

To belong.
To be loved.

Let’s put THAT on the Table.

TAKING UP SPACE is the first of my new Kitchen Table gatherings.

Real conversation.
Deliciously uncomfortable questions.
An embodied practice.
Practical tools.

Not louder.
Not harder.

Just disappearing less.

Apparently September is when we’re all supposed to Apparently September is when we’re all supposed to get our shit together.

Cute. 😂

The Virgo New Moon might have other ideas.

After eclipse season and all that great big LEAP energy, perhaps we don’t need another overhaul, new routine or bloody self-improvement project.

Perhaps we need to LAND.

To get curious about where our energy is going.

To remember the difference between routine and rhythm.

To stop tending everybody else’s garden while ours is gasping dramatically in the corner. 😂🌿

And maybe instead of asking:

“Who do I need to become?”

we ask:

“What would help me come back to myself?”

Come play.
