New Moon in Scorpio, Mercury Retrograde & the Power of the Dark Moon.

Jenny Heston · 1:11 pm ·

How’s your Mercury Retrograde going so far?

If you’re feeling stretched, stirred, or slightly spun around—trust me, you’re not alone.

This retrograde was forecast to be an intense one, and ooooh yes… she is delivering.

But remember: this isn’t punishment.

It’s a slow-down, a recalibration, and a sacred invitation to soften into yourself—even as the holiday season tries to whip us into frenzy.

Here’s your gentle reminder of how to move through these energies with grace, grounding, and a touch of magick.

Your Mercury Retrograde Guide

COLLECT YOUR WORDS

Pause before speaking. Feel into your truth. Let your words come from clarity, not reaction.

LET OTHERS SPEAK

Retrograde can make conversation feel lopsided. Slow yourself down. Breathe.
Hold space for others to share—your energy helps them find their own clarity.

CONNECT WITH NATURE

Tech glitches? Website crashes? Locked out of email?
Take it as a cue to step away.
Walk. Look at the sky. Touch the earth. Dip your toes in the ocean.
Nature recalibrates what technology disrupts.

READ THE DETAILS (Twice… maybe thrice)

Contracts can be signed—but read slowly.
Retrograde rewards careful pacing.

CONFIRM PLANS

Double-check times, dates, flights, appointments. Retrograde loves a good mix-up.

SPEND TIME WITH YOURSELF

Retrograde turns communication inward.
Journal. Pull cards.
Let your intuition speak louder than the noise around you.
Begin each morning with gratitudes + affirmations to set the tone.

BE OPEN TO REALIGNMENT

If something breaks, it wasn’t aligned.
Let it fall. Build again.
What rises from this time is sturdier, truer, and meant for you.

These next three weeks are not a curse—they are an opening.
Slow down. Breathe. Let Retrograde show you where you’re ready to return home to yourself.

The Dark Moon: The Sacred Pause Before the New Moon

Just before the New Moon in Scorpio, we enter the Dark Moon—a single, potent night that asks us to release, reflect, and come back to the essence of who we are.

The Dark Moon is not another phase—it’s the space between phases.

The hinge.
The exhale.

The night the Moon disappears so we can see ourselves more clearly.

It invites us to:

  • Rest the spirit
  • Tend our inner soil
  • Say the sacred “no”
  • Lay down what we no longer wish to carry
  • Call ourselves back into belonging

Where the Full Moon celebrates and the New Moon initiates, the Dark Moon simply asks us to be.
No striving.
No pushing.
Just presence.

The Scorpio New Moon: A Deep New Beginning

On November 19–20, the Sun and Moon join in Scorpio, ushering in a new lunar cycle charged with emotional depth, intuition, and rebirth.

This New Moon invites you to:

  • Start again
  • Try something new
  • Step outside your comfort zone
  • Release resentment + emotional heaviness
  • See the past with new clarity

Under these energies, ask yourself:

✨ What have I longed to experience?
✨ What have I been putting off?
✨ What truth have I been afraid to acknowledge?

Mercury Retrograde is the cosmic editor—guiding us back through old lessons so we can move forward differently, stronger, and more aligned.

If clarity hasn’t landed yet, it’s okay.
Pause.
Trust the unfolding.
When Mercury stations direct at month’s end, the path will feel clearer.

A Ritual for This New Moon: The Blessing Bowl

One of the most powerful practices for the Scorpio New Moon is the Blessing Bowl Ritual—a simple but profound way to honour what you’re releasing and welcome what you’re calling in.

Big Love!

🌕 The Beaver Full Moon – Building What Matters Most.

Jenny Heston · 5:55 pm ·

On Wednesday, November 5th, we welcome the Beaver Full Moon — a luminous Super Moon, and the brightest we’ll see in the sky this year.

You might be thinking, “Okay Jenny, there’s a Full Moon — and what does that mean for me? I’m busy, you know, doing life.”

Totally get it.

But here’s the thing — November is more than just another month on the calendar.

It’s a fresh start, a threshold between worlds — a time to honour Samhain, All Souls Day, and The Day of the Dead, while quietly preparing for the deep rest of Winter.

Just like the determined beaver, we are invited to draw upon patience, persistence, and the sacred art of creation.

🦫 What Is the Beaver Moon?

The Beaver Moon is the Full Moon of November — named for the time when beavers complete their winter lodges and store food before the ice sets in. Indigenous peoples also recognized this as the season for gathering valuable beaver pelts, honouring the animal’s strength and industrious spirit.

Spiritually, this moon is connected to the water element, calling us inward — to our emotions, intuition, and creative flow. It whispers:

“Prepare wisely. Protect what matters most. Build something that lasts.”

This is a time to slow down, set healthy boundaries, and weave comfort into your days — through shared meals, warm candlelight, and meaningful connection.

It’s also a beautiful moment to dream up creative projects that will bring light and warmth into the darker months ahead.

🌕 The Spiritual Invitation

Under this Beaver Moon, the message is clear — be the architect of your own life.

Ask yourself:

  • What “dams” (boundaries) do I need to build to protect my energy and peace?
  • Where do I need to patch the cracks in my foundation — body, home, heart, or spirit?
  • How can I nourish myself as I prepare for the winter within and without?

This moon invites you to fortify your world, to create comfort, protection, and purpose beneath its silver light.

✨ Ritual & Reflection

To deepen your connection with this moon’s energy, you’re invited to explore:

🌕 The Ritual of Release — a sacred practice to clear what no longer serves you.
🪶 Journal Prompts for the Beaver Moon — deep, delicious reflections to help you root into what truly matters.

Wishing you a stupendous Beaver Full Moon, dear one —
one that inspires you to build your dreams, protect your peace, and shine softly in the glow of your own becoming.

With love and moonlight,

Evolving in the In-Between: My Love Letter to Samhain.

Jenny Heston · 3:33 pm ·

At this glorious time of year – Samhain, there are so many invitations for us.

We are beckoned to connect more deeply with our inner worlds and the ancestral realms.

The ancestors are near.

The ancient ones are communing with us in long-forgotten tongues.

They are speaking through the fire—through the crackle of wood, the dance of smoke, the burning of herbs.

They are helping us to remember who we truly are and the ancestral medicine we hold.

The elements are our ancestors, too, holding us in the eternal memory of what it means to be children of the earth.

If you have a loved one that has crossed over, on Samhain night say a special prayer, or do something to remind you of them. Eat their favourite food, or light a candle in their name.

And beyond reaching out to passed loved ones, make time to acknowledge the “deaths” both great and small in your life. There are so many things that have “died” this year, so honour the ones that matter most to you, even if they are a little painful.

Here is a glorious Ritual for Release, that is easy, powerful and meaningful.

Look to nature for guidance, as it is always showing us how it dies and rebirths itself again and again.

What if on Samhain you chose to release stuffing your shadows and really embrace, love and trust all the different parts of you that work together as you live your most creative, honest and beautiful life?

What if you actually remember and embrace all you are – a wholeness?

Remembering the important life lessons that have come our way, such as: – I remember that masks that stay on too long will stick to my skin.  I remember I always have a choice.  I remember that if I am asked to keep a piece of me hidden, this is not where I belong.  It’s about diving into your core values and living them.

If you want 5 Easy Ways to celebrate Samhain and bring something richer into your life, I’ve got you covered.

If you want to dive deeper into the lore and absorb all the richness and magic then come play with Witchlight & Whisper: Samhain Magick for the Soul.

As the veil grows thin and night leans close,
may you remember —
darkness is not the absence of light,
but the cradle that holds it.

May your flame burn steady in the wind,
a whisper of gold in the long night,
a promise that what fades will return.

May your heart be a hearth
for all that seeks warmth —
the weary, the lost,
the parts of yourself long buried.

May the ancestors walk beside you,
their love wrapped around your shoulders
like a shawl of stars.

And as you cross this holy threshold,
may you trust the mystery,
the compost, the quiet —
for in the dark,
your soul remembers how to shine.

🕯️ Blessed Samhain 🕯️

5 Easy Rituals for Samhain.

Jenny Heston · 3:00 pm ·

Samhain, a pagan festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter, is a time when the veil between the physical world and the spirit world is believed to be thinnest.

For those who are spiritual but do not identify as witches, there are still meaningful ways to honor this sacred time. Here are some easy Samhain rituals perfect for you:

1. Ancestor Altar

Create a simple altar with photos or mementos of loved ones who have passed away. Light a candle and take a moment to remember and honor their memory. This ritual can help you feel connected to your ancestors and the cycle of life and death.

2. Nature Walk

Take a walk in nature and observe the changing colors of the leaves and the signs of the approaching winter. Reflect on the cycles of life and the beauty of the changing seasons. You can also collect fallen leaves or acorns to bring a piece of nature into your home.

3. Release Ritual

Write down any negative thoughts, emotions, or habits that you want to release. Light a black candle and burn the paper, visualizing the negativity being transformed into light and released into the universe. This ritual can help you let go of what no longer serves you.

4. Divination Practice

Use tarot cards, runes, or a pendulum to gain insight into the coming months. Ask for guidance or clarity on a specific question or simply see what messages the universe has for you. Divination can be a powerful tool for self-reflection and spiritual growth.

5. Silent Meditation

Find a quiet space, light a white candle, and sit in meditation.

Focus on your breath and allow any thoughts or emotions to come and go without judgment. This practice can help you connect with your inner self and the spiritual energy of the season.

These simple Samhain rituals are perfect for those who are drawn to the spiritual significance of the season but may not resonate with traditional witchcraft practices. Remember, the most important aspect of any ritual is your intention and sincerity.

Embrace the energy of Samhain and allow yourself to be open to the magic of the season.

A Blessing For The Equinox.

Jenny Heston · 2:17 pm ·

💫 A Blessing for the Month Ahead

Take a deep breath and read these words slowly — may they be a prayer and encouragement for your journey this month:

May this month bring you clarity and gratitude.

May you rest when you’re weary, and trust the seeds you’ve sown.

May you clearly see and celebrate the harvests you’ve grown.

May balance return where it’s needed most, and wisdom rise from the lessons you’ve lived.

As the light fades and the nights grow long, may your inner fire burn steady and true.

Happy Equinox Gorgeous Soul.

Here we go loves, tomorrow brings our once-in-a-bl Here we go loves, tomorrow brings our once-in-a-blue-moon moment. 🌕🩵

This Sagittarius full blue moon is bringing a cosmic green light for growth, expansion and taking the leap into the known (and unknown).

It’s here to free you from the confines of your comfort zone, illuminate the beliefs and fears that have kept you small, and call you towards the fullest and truest expansion of yourself.

You may already be feeling the restlessness building. A feeling that something needs to change. That you’ve outgrown certain parts of your life, limiting thoughts, old stories or ways of being that no longer fit the version of you you’re becoming.

This moon wants you to stop waiting for some imaginary future and begin taking steps towards the life your heart and soul truly yearn for now.

You’ll know deep down where you’re being called to go and what you’re being called to do and yes, it may feel big. But your soul wouldn’t call you into it if you weren’t ready.

This is your once-in-a-blue-moon moment to believe in yourself, stretch beyond what feels comfortable, trust your path and take the leap.

Just like the Sagittarius archer, draw back your bow, take aim for what you want and go for it.

The Taurus new moon is a powerful reminder that we The Taurus new moon is a powerful reminder that we cannot hear the guidance or receive and anchor in the new energies and frequencies coming in when we are in a state of dysregulation or high alert.

The world is getting quicker and louder, and many of us are being pulled in too many different directions by too many different demands on our time, energy and attention, leaving us feeling overwhelmed, overloaded and agitated.

This moon is asking us to consciously slow down, unplug from the noise of the outside world and take back our attention from anywhere it’s scattered. Because when our attention is scattered, our power and awareness leak, making it easier to feel lost, uncertain and disconnected from ourselves.

This moon is asking us to root deeply into ourselves, regulate our nervous systems and reconnect to our own wisdom, because only from a grounded and rooted place can we truly receive and anchor in the new frequencies and possibilities trying to come through.

How are you being called to slow down and reconnect to yourself under this moon?

We’re taught early what it means to be a “good” wo We’re taught early what it means to be a “good” woman.
.
.
Be nice and agreeable. Don’t make people uncomfortable...even if it means you are.
.
.
We learn to shrink ourselves to keep the peace. To smile when something feels off. To choose politeness over protection.
.
.
But here’s the thing… that version of “nature” we’re told to follow? It’s not reality.
.
.
Look at females in the wild. They protect their territory. They defend their young. They set boundaries without apology. They don’t soften themselves to make others comfortable. They survive because they don’t ignore their instincts....Somewhere along the way, we were taught to override ours.
.
.
Being kind is not the same as being compliant. Being compassionate does not require self-abandonment... And your discomfort is not something you owe the world.
.
.
You are allowed to take up space, say no and choose yourself.
.
.
That’s not unnatural....That’s instinct.
Bealtaine blessings! 🌸🌿🧚🏼 In the Celtic lands, the Bealtaine blessings! 🌸🌿🧚🏼 In the Celtic lands, the ancient festival of Bealtaine marks the start of the summer season.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Traditionally Bealtaine did not have a fixed date, though it has come to be celebrated by many in modern times on the first of May (and here in Ireland, this week has indeed very much felt like our first glimpse of summer).⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
At this time of year we celebrate the greening, fertility, and abundance of the natural world. The land is bursting with life all around us, renewed from the long sleep of winter.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Much like the festival of Samhain, which sits opposite from Bealtaine on the ever-turning wheel of the year, this is a liminal time when the veil between our physical realm and the spiritual Otherworld thins.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
It is said here in Ireland that the Sídhe, the fairy folk, are more likely pass through the fairy forts, ancient burial mounds, and other “thin places” at this time of year (and folks who wander near these places may likewise find themselves wandering into the Otherworld).⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Many of the rituals performed during this festival are protective in nature.⁣ Perhaps the most time-honored of these rites is the Bealtaine bonfire 🔥 ⁣If you are unable to light a large fire, candle magic is a good option as well.⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
This energy makes Bealtaine a potent time for spirit work, hedge crossing (i.e. trance journeying), and divination. ⁣Similarly, you may have noticed your dreams becoming more vivid, or you might even experience prophetic or lucid dreams. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣
In my own practice, getting out onto the land to connect with the local spirits is one of the most important aspects of this day.⁣ I gather herbs and flowers, have a picnic, sing, dance, and share offerings with the local spirits of place 🌀
