Hippity, Hoppity, Eggs, Bunnies, Retrogrades and Spring!

Happy Magnificent, Marvelous, Magical Monday! How was your Spring Equinox? Did you take a few moments to plant some lovely seeds, whether literally or figuratively? I planted up 12 little pots of gorgeous herbs and under the soil in each pot is a slip of paper with something I want more of that makes me feel happy. The boys helped me out, so it was a nice little ritual to do together, as well as making some fresh bread to go with our Spicy Thai Coconut Soup meal! Nom, nom. Nom.

How to tell Spring is here (Canadian style), by Friday I could see buds pushing up through the soil, and most of the snow was gone, so me being me I made big plans to be out all Saturday and tend my garden. Then Saturday morning I woke up to it puking (yes I said puking) down with snow! WTF was my response. I had gorgeous plans of being outside in the sun, tidying up the garden, marking out new beds. Nope, nadda, we received 12 inches of snow that day. Grrrrr…… Ah well, a change of plans and instead I caught up on all sorts of reading, creating and planning that had been pushed to the side and had a lovely quiet night with gorgeous music wafting through the house, candles everywhere – as the boys were all out for the night. So there were gifts in the onslaught of snow. (At least that’s how I’m reframing it). Now, I have a question. When I was a kid my Dad told me that when it was raining and sunny it was a “Monkey’s Birthday”. Well, Sunday was filled with snow showers and sun – what’s that called? A friend told me that it’s when “The Devil is beating his wife.” I’m not a huge fan of that one, so if you know a different name, do please let me know.

Both Mercury and Jupiter are retrograde at the moment, now don’t panic that doesn’t mean you lock yourself inside and live off canned food. Mercury went retrograde on the 23rd and will be that way until April 15th and as we have all heard, this is the time to just be a bit more careful about travel, technology, communication etc. In other words, give yourself more time to get to the airport, backup your important documents and practice nonviolent communication. Jupiter is retrograde from March 8th to July 10th. Again, no reason to panic! AstroStyle explains, “the prefix re- means to go back — and retrogrades are a time to polish up projects already in the works, or to dig up ones you’ve set aside. Retrogrades turn our attention to the past, and can actually be cosmic “grace periods” when we can finish all the things we’ve started or strengthen our plans, ensuring that we don’t move forward on a shaky foundation.” It’s definitely something to meditate on. As the planets appear to be spinning backwards (spoiler alert: they’re not — it’s an illusion), it’s a good time to whip out your journal and focus on making the past present. And then a part of your future.” Yes?

Easter is quickly approaching and I noticed that the hot cross buns are out in all the stores. I will confess, I have a “thing” for them, no clue why, but I really do. I cut them in half, toast them and slather them with butter and then everything seems right with the world at that moment in time! I bought 18 of them on Saturday and by Monday there are 2 left and no one else in the house likes them (thank goodness). See what I mean? I laughed when I realised that Easter Sunday is on April Fools Day. Here, we play pranks on each other galore on the morning of April Fools, so I did let the fleeting thought of gathering up a bunch of Elk poo from my hikes (as they look like little chocolate eggs) and wrapping them in foil float through my mind – I did say it was fleeting! Instead I have mapped out a 2km long egg hunt with twists, turns and jokes to be answered along the way.

What do you get when you pour hot water down a rabbit hole? Hot cross bunnies!

Why did the Easter bunny cross the road? Because the chicken had its Easter eggs!

Hey, nowhere in this did I say they were good jokes lolol! So how are you going to celebrate this Easter? Time outside, visit with family, a large dinner, an egg hunt or just relaxing and watching it all happen?

Okay, enough chuntering away about chocolate, eggs and hot cross buns, let’s get on with the reading. The deck that was most adamant to come and participate was “The Oracle of the Dragonfae”, in fact they were a little surly that they’ve had to wait this long, but I did assure them it was worth the wait. Who couldn’t do with some magic, miracles and faeries in their life? One of the tulips in the near by vase literally threw herself out to come play (she did get popped back in when finished). Only 1 sleep until Spring Equinox!!! Whoot, whoot!

Happy Marvelous, Magnificent, Magical Monday gorgeous one! Only one more sleep until Spring Equinox! (Can you tell I’m excited?) I love Spring Equinox – well, I love all the Sabbats and Esbats to be honest, but the Spring Equinox fills me with so much hope, promise and delight as I know deep in my body that the heaviness of winter is leaving and it’s a time of rebirth, growth and glorious opportunities! This is a time when the goddess is the Maiden in all her youthful glory, the god is reaching manhood, and energy abounds. It’s also the perfect time of year to clear away all those old patterns that no longer work for your benefit, and welcome in new growth, whether spiritual, personal or financial. For those of you on my email list you will be receiving a fun and easy ritual to mark the day and really tap into that glorious energy.

On Saturday I had one of those marvelous days filled with lots of moments of joy. The sun was out, the temperature mild I went for a hike up the mountain but the trail I was on was a mud pit so needless to say I was a tad filthy and muddy by the time I got home – but it all washes off, right? (Oh yes and forgot to grab the dogs before they dashed into the house covered in mud and hopped up on the frigging sofas!) So after cleaning up their muddy mess that was all through the house, I sat out on my deck and mused about how to build a glorious pagoda (with a built in chin up bar) and a cute little workshop for all my lovely tools and I was mapping out what I am going to do with the garden (when the three feet of snow finally goes away!) I love creating sacred outdoor space with plants, water, rock and wood – little magical corners and havens where you can sit and revel in the beauty, map out your dreams or just recline and relax and let nature buzz around you.

This in turn reminded me that I wanted to get the book “Garden Witchery: Magick from the Ground Up” so I popped into one of my favourite local stores to see if they had it. Alas, no and then I had one of those “wowzer” moments! Sitting on the shelf was an Oracle deck that literally shouted at me to pick it up. Now, I am uber picky about the decks that I use and I often will sit on the floor of the store and go through a deck for an hour and still put it back on the shelf. This one though – all I can say was “I didn’t stand a chance”, this was not an invitation from Spirit, but a very clear directive. So without opening it I picked it up and as I was buying it (talk about having things validated), someone walked up to me and handed me a long thin piece of folded paper. Ummm, I don’t do drugs, I don’t want your phone number, what the heck is this – were the first thoughts that dashed through my brain, but as I gently unfolded it there was a gorgeous pressed 4 leaf clover! Whoot, whoot! A gift of a 4 leaf clover on St. Paddy’s day and the exact minute I was following a directive to get this deck. Love how life unfolds.

So guess which deck we are going to work with for this reading? Yes, you guessed it. The new one!!!!!! (She is amazing). When I got home I immediately opened her up and laughed out loud with how perfectly perfect and powerful she was. So she has been cleansed, consecrated and blessed and is the ultimate deck for this pre Spring Equinox reading. Oh yes, how rude of me not to formally introduce her, she is The Earth Warriors Oracle by the amazing Alana Fairchild. Let me read part of the introduction to you so you can get a bit of a feel for her:-

“Earth Warriors are the healers and transformational leaders for a more beautiful world. This reading was done a bit differently, only one crystal and Citrine was most adamant that she be front and centre. The cards are fanned out like rays of sunlight.

So with that in mind and the energy of Spring Equinox just around the corner, let’s crack on! I did create a lovely Equinox visualisation if you feel so inclined (think Diana Gabalden and Stonehenge), if not I invite you to take a lovely long deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth. Wiggle your toes and feel your feet on the floor, solid and safe, take a few glorious deep breaths in and slowly out and when you are ready pick the card or cards that resonate for you.

The Divine within your heart has the power to transform a situation that is troubling you. Do not be intimidated or think it is too much for your or the Divine to handle. Don not allow yourself to intellectualise or analyse a situation to the point of feeling confused or paralysed. Healing through the heart on any and all issues that have plagued you or a loved one can and will happen. Let your heart feel the faith it needs to feel so that it can rest in joy. Divine healing wants to flow abundantly to you. Open up to receive it without hesitation or condition.

Wow! I don’t know about you, but that was an amazing reading. A lot to do with trust, rebirth, heart based and not mind based and just how incredibly powerful and part of the Divine we all are! I thought it was interesting as well that all 3 cards that came were Hawaiian based! I particularly liked that the Pono Pono card came up, I once did this practice for 3 weeks straight and it was incredible to see what happened. New Moon in Aquarius with a Partial Solar Eclipse and how to make your wishes count!

Well January was certainly a month of releasing, letting go, dredging things up from the past and purging them out, even more so as we had two Full Moons and a lunar eclipse!

Eclipse time brings up buried emotions, old stuff and patterning – so if you have been feeling a tad overwhelmed, drained, a bit fragmented – don’t fret – it’s all shifting and changing now.

Remember last week we talked about the theme of this month being UNFOLDING (think of a flower and an openness and expansion), that’s very much the energy of this delicious New Moon in Aquarius and Partial Solar Eclipse. Also, as February doesn’t have a Full Moon in it, there’s even more of an invitation for planting new seeds, creating and expanding into the future. Thus this partial eclipse is a book end to the one we had in January.

“The energy surrounding this Eclipse is the air sign of Aquarius and carries a very gentle, hopeful, and loving energy. All of this newly created space that we have made in our lives since the start of the year is going to be perfectly filled with this loving, abundant, and positive energy from February’s Solar Eclipse.

This Aquarius energy also gets us to start thinking about the bigger picture and focusing on how our actions and words affect those around us. Under the influence of this Solar Eclipse, we are going to have to step away from seeing things through our own perspective and open ourselves up to see things from a higher perspective.

Under this energy, we all have the potential to awaken and to see how our actions, words, and our essence effects the world around us. We may also feel a sense of responsibility in regards to how our attitudes and behaviours are creating a ripple effect around the world. There is an opening or a doorway to higher consciousness through this energy, and the more we can open our minds and hearts, the more likely we are to get a glimpse of true oneness.”

If you are feeling any confusion around relationship or path, use the glorious New Moon energy as your ally to break through this temporary limbo and reconnect with your intentions. New Moons are such an amazing time to to touch in with your intentions to make sure they are still what you want. A new moon is a still point and this one is good one to experience the stillness that aligns right timing.

Taking time for yourself and having a little touchstone ritual on a New Moon doesn’t have to be long and convoluted, it can be exceptionally easy, delightful and extremely powerful. Here is a fun, easy and gentle way to reconnect with your intentions and to make strong New Moon wishes.

New Moon Wishes/Visioning

Supplies needed:-

Pen, or multiple coloured pens, paper (Journal), a candle (any colour will do) and a delicious cuppa tea! (Lol, in my world you should always include tea I have a divine one that is lavender/mint and locally sourced).

Before you start, light a candle and take a moment to feel gratitude for all that’s good in your life.
Put some lovely music on that makes you feel relaxed, special and calm.
Take a few long deep breaths, get comfy in your body and where you are. For me it could be sitting outside (but if it’s frigging cold then I am curled up in the corner of the sofa with a dog on my feet).
Think of the top 10 wishes/intentions for the coming four weeks. Also decide what you are willing to commit to doing, in order to help your wishes manifest.
Then just write. I always start my New Moon wishes with I AM……… as I AM is a very powerful statement to yourself and to the Universe.
Remember, you can’t write wishes for someone else i.e. I AM in a healthy, loving relationship with Doug – the guy at work. Nope. Not allowed.
You can write about being in a healthy, loving relationship with a wonderful male/female who you connect with on every level, but you really can’t wish for someone else. Make sense?
When you have written out your 10 wishes, go back and read them slowly and really, really visualise this as true, and present moment. Feel it, smell it, taste it and smile like a Cheshire Cat.
Then end the ritual by saying outloud “This or something better now manifests for me, under grace in perfect ways and in perfect timing. So must it be.”

Voila! Done. If you have kids and want to share this with them it’s very easy and quite fun. Light a candle, become the secretary and ask each person in your family what their top 3 wishes are, write them down and then come next New Moon review them together – I highly suggest over a delicious oatmeal chocolate chip cookie and a mug of tea. Yes?

Let’s Re-frame Monday, Shall We? Weekly Reading October 23rd.

Happy, happy marvellous, manifesting, magical Monday! Let’s talk about Monday shall we? I have encountered, talked to and listened to sooo many people in the last month who have the “Fuck I hate Monday” attitude. When I ask why they look at me as if I missed the memo “Duh, everyone hates Monday, it’s Monday!” This response causes me to shake my head, roll my eyes and sigh. It’s a day, it’s the same as the day before and the next one to come, it’s 24 hours in your life, just because it happens to be called Monday shouldn’t earn it a bad rap. I actually had someone sing me the old Boomtown Rats song “I don’t like Monday’s”. (He did it quite well all considered).

I appreciate for some people they hate what they are doing and so Monday seems to toll the bell of – urrgghhhh, back to the 9-5. But let’s take a moment and look at this – if what we focus on expands and if we manage our thoughts it can change our reality – why on God’s green earth would you want to pump that level of negative blaugh? What if we reframed it and Monday became – Marvelous Monday, Manifesting Monday, Magical Monday, Mesmerising Monday? (Can you think of some other ones?) I guess my challenge to you is to reframe Monday and what it brings, instead of looking at this poor day as the bringer of bad news, let’s look at it as a fabulous day to create, manifest, experience miracles, mindset shifts and huge surges of mojo! Who’s with me? I challenge you to look at the next 6 Mondays this way and share that energy with others (as it’s quite contagious!)

So with that being said let’s go celebrate this magnificent Monday in style! The cards that wiggled and jiggled and jumped up and down to come share and play with you are the gorgeous Oracle of the Dragonfae. Interestingly, the crystals that did their uber sparkle and wiggle are Amethyst and Citrine, both amazing healing stones and absolutely delicious and delightful for manifestation. Citrine has the nickname of “The Merchants Stone”, as it’s most certainly involved with money, manifestation and marvellousness! The gorgeous Autumn leaves most certainly wanted to show off their deep reds and golds, so along they came.

I invite you to take a moment and just wiggle your fingers and toes, get your back nice and straight and slightly tuck your chin as if you are holding a grapefruit there. Breathe in long and slow through your nose and then let it sigh out through your mouth as you give a cheeky smirk. Repeat for as long or as many times as you want to and when you feel ready, pick the card or cards that resonate for you.

HIDEKI’S DOOR

I know you wish to reach out, and yet you hold back. I know you feel drawn to knock on this door and to see whether it will be answered this time…and yet you fear so much. You fear that it will not be answered…that the answer or the face that appears beyond the door will not be to your liking…that if you enter, you may never return… I cannot put your fears to rest, for only you can do that. But I can tell you what I see. I see a spirit whose flame has flickered low,, whose light is in danger of going out if it does not take the next step. For years you have passed this door and many times you have found yourself here. You may even have knocked at the door, only to flee, like a terrified child, before the door was opened to you.

I say to you now: it is time. Reach out. Knock at the door. And let what will be, be.

Nervous about a new chance…feeling as though your comfort zone is far better than the unknown; longing to travel and to change, yet unwilling to do anything about it; procrastinations and old habits keeping you from reaching out and accepting what is being offered. You are ready…it is simply nerves that are holding you back, conditioned fears and internalised voices from the past. Reach out…take a hold of the handle and be ready for the wonder of the unknown that lies beyond the door. The doors of perception about to change…forever.

You have nothing to fear, except fear freezing your hand, again. Knock on the door. All is well.

Even when others cry out against you, even when there are loud, aggressive voices proclaiming you are not magickal, the truth is that you are magickal, have always been magickal, will always be magickal. I urge you to allow me to protect you, with the sword from the lake of Avalon itself. I will not hurt a soul, but I will carve through the bonds and the chords their criticism has created, and I will heal you of the hurt their cruel voices and harsh words have caused.

Take some time for your own self, dear one, and retreat and allow me to nurture you. Your magick is strong and powerful, but the wounds have at times been deep. Let the beings behind me soothe you, and allow yourself to feel your truth again. You are whole, perfect and complete. Swim in the silken waters, feeling your truth, and know that soon you will experience a homecoming. You are never alone along. And I will always be at your side, whenever you have need of me. You are orphan, outcast, wanderer no more. I now assign the Morgens, the priestesses of Avalon, and the sacred swan and Dragonfae to be at your side evermore. Evermore.

When you have experienced being ignored or refused entrance into family closeness or the mainstream, this card may show up to comfort you and let you know that your soul family is not only looking out for you, it is assigned to protect you for a time in order to shelter you so that you may heal. AINE AND THE GUARDIAN

Here I stand, offering to you the protection and safety of my guardian being, wanting you to know how very protected you truly are. Never need you fear again those who have done you harm. This is over, and never again will disrespect and tyranny blight your path and light. Know that from this moment on, I stand with you, as does this magnificent Moondragonfae guardian, and together we say you may live as you wish, you may love as you wish, you may worship as you wish. No longer will others who feel they know best, have their way with you, in spirit, in your heart, in your body, in your eternal soul. You are a radiant being of moonlit power, and the Goddess, our Mother, is overjoyed at your brilliance, your wit, your beauty, your freedom.

I repeat. You are safe. You are protected. You are divine. All else is a lie.

Allow yourself to take flight, and explore the night and the freedoms it holds. The Moon cycles have much to reveal to you now, and as she wanes and waxes, and shines fully, you may stand beneath her and feel her rays shining through your every cell, filling you with natural magick that sustains your freedom, your true soul self, and brings you a warrior strength that by no means decreases your brilliance’s as a woman, or your femininity. Be receptive, and Aine will guide you to her magickal places, and this galactic Dragonfae being will help you see beyond our own star, the Sun, into the realms beyond.
