October’s Invitation: Gather, Release & Unfurl.

Jenny Heston · 1:01 pm · Leave a Comment

Welcome to October, Gorgeous Soul.

Autumn has well and truly arrived, trailing her glorious skirts of gold, rust and crimson.

The nights are growing longer, a chill is finding its way into our homes, and those delicious glimmers of sunshine feel like something to linger in. There are harvests to gather, leaves to kick through and a growing desire to come home, put the kettle on and make things cosy.

Meanwhile, pumpkins are appearing in the fields and on doorsteps, all things spooky are stirring, and my witchy heart is rather delighted.

This month, I thought we would do something a little different and explore what October might be offering us. So I settled into a glorious pile of leaves, let the wind send them dancing around me, and listened—to my guides, to the season, and to the quiet wisdom that comes when we give ourselves a moment to pause.

The card I pulled was Unfurl the Wings of Forgiveness, with its invitation to bring accountability and compassion together.

It felt beautifully at home in a season that holds so much side by side: abundance and withering, warmth and cold, the gathering of what has grown and the releasing of what has finished.

October knows how to hold more than one truth, and perhaps that is part of what she is inviting us to learn.

Creatures of the air understand that it takes two wings to fly. As we make our way through life’s sometimes turbulent skies, accountability and compassion can become our own two wings. One helps us tell the truth, take responsibility and honour our boundaries; the other keeps our hearts receptive, allowing us to meet ourselves and each other with tenderness.

We need both.

Compassion without accountability can leave us explaining away behaviour that hurts us, while accountability without compassion can become a harsh place to live. Together, they give us room to recognise what needs to change without turning that recognition into another reason to punish ourselves.

Perhaps there is something you need to own this month—a reaction, a habit, a promise to yourself that keeps slipping to the bottom of the pile. Perhaps something needs to be called out, or a boundary needs to be spoken aloud and then lived. Or perhaps you already know your part, have learned from it, and are still dragging the whole frigging thing behind you as though you haven’t earned the right to put it down.

This is where forgiveness might begin: in the willingness to look honestly at what happened, listen to what it taught you, and consider how you want to move forward.

It can take time, and it doesn’t require you to excuse harm or welcome someone back into your life. You can understand another person’s humanity and still keep your door firmly closed. You can offer yourself compassion and still take responsibility for doing things differently.

There is something in the falling leaves that speaks to this. The trees have spent months growing, reaching and gathering light, and now they are releasing what they can no longer sustain. Beneath them, what falls slowly becomes nourishment for another season. Watching this, I wonder how much of our energy goes into holding on to things that have already offered us all they can.

October asks us to gather our own harvest before we decide what to release.

Alongside the food, flowers and fruits of the year, there are the less visible things we have grown: clearer boundaries, deeper understanding, a little more courage, perhaps a voice that no longer disappears quite so quickly when someone disagrees.

Even a difficult experience may have left you with something worth keeping. You might have learned where you need support, what you will no longer tolerate, or how much it matters to make space for joy. Take a moment to recognise those harvests. We can be so busy looking at what remains unfinished that we overlook what has quietly taken root.

And as you gather, you may begin to notice what is ready to fall away.

An old dream that no longer lights you up. A role you have become weary of playing. A relationship held together by your effort alone. The familiar habit of saying yes while your whole body is whispering, “Please, no.”

Let yourself be honest about what still belongs in your life. There may be grief in that honesty, even relief, and sometimes both arrive together. Like the garden, we need time to tend what remains, clear what has finished and allow the ground to rest before asking it to grow again.

As we move towards Samhain, this reflection reaches into the longer stories we belong to. For those of us who honour the thinning of the veil, October brings a sense of closeness to the ancestors, to those we have loved and lost, and to the lives that made our own possible. A candle, a familiar recipe, a photograph or a name spoken aloud can become a small doorway into remembrance.

Here, too, we can bring our two wings. We may cherish what was loving and nourishing while acknowledging what was painful. We can choose which gifts to carry forward and which inherited patterns we are ready to stop passing on. Our remembrance has room for the whole story.

Through all of this gathering, remembering and releasing, we are being brought back to ourselves. How are you caring for the person who is carrying your life? Have you made room for your own comfort, nourishment and needs, or are you hoping to squeeze them in once everyone else is sorted?

If you have been overcompromising or pushing through for too long, this may be a good moment to pause and listen. What would help you feel more supported as the darker months arrive? More rest? Less rushing? Time alone to hear yourself think, or time with people around whom you can soften and be fully yourself?

Sometimes we are mid-motion, waiting for something we have already set in motion to find its way home. We cannot hurry every answer or control every outcome, but we can tend the life we are living while we wait. There is steadiness to be found in making a nourishing meal, walking among the trees, lighting a candle or beginning the day with a few quiet breaths. Small, familiar practices give us somewhere to return when everything around us feels unsettled.

From that steadier place, it becomes easier to look at where our energy is going and whether our choices still fit. Our resources include so much more than money: vitality, imagination, creativity, enthusiasm, friendship and the capacity to find another way. They deserve care, especially if worry, old habits or the fear of disappointing someone have been consuming more than their share.

You might begin by asking yourself, If I gave my own needs a proper place in this decision, what would I choose? Sit with the answer long enough to hear it. Then consider your commitments and the people you care about, allowing your own truth to remain part of the conversation.

And as you do this deeper tending, please leave room for a little delicious mischief.

October offers plenty of opportunities to laugh, play and remember that we are alive.

Dance in the kitchen while the soup simmers. Kick through the leaves. Call the friend who makes you snort with laughter. Let warmth come from companionship as well as the hearth, and let yourself ask for support when you need it.

Perhaps that is the invitation running through this month: to gather what sustains us, release what we can no longer carry, and meet the truth of our lives with both courage and kindness. As the leaves loosen their hold and the evenings draw us home, we can begin to make space for what we need in the season ahead.

With accountability in one wing and compassion in the other, we might find ourselves ready to unfurl.

🌕 The Harvest Full Moon.

Jenny Heston · 1:11 pm ·

Ripeness, Change & the Turning Season

This Saturday, September 26th, we welcome the Harvest Moon, also known as the Corn Moon.

This Full Moon falls in Aries, opposite the Sun in Libra. Aries is bold, independent and motivating, while Libra reminds us that we live in relationship with others. Together, there can be a lovely tension between following our own path and considering the people who walk alongside us.

And I will be very clear here — I am not an astrologer!

I use astrology in my own life and in my work, but if you asked me to decipher all your transits and houses and whatnot, I would probably look at you as though you were bonkers. 😂

What interests me far more is what I call the Seasonal Lens.

Where does this Moon fall on the Wheel of the Year?

What is happening in Nature around us?

And what might Nature be showing us about ourselves?

Because this Harvest Moon arrives only days after the Autumn Equinox.

We have crossed that moment of balance between light and dark, and now the days begin to noticeably shorten.

The growing season is coming to an end. Birds are beginning their migrations. Seeds are scattering. Leaves are changing colour. The garden is shifting from producing and growing towards releasing and returning.

Summer is letting go.

And whether we notice it consciously or not, I think many of us feel that shift too.

For months the energy has been outward.

Growing. Doing. Creating. Going places. Longer evenings. Gardens exploding. Windows open. Bare feet.

And now something begins to draw us back in. Not all at once.

Nature rarely seems to work like that.

It happens slowly. A colder morning. Darkness arriving a little earlier. The first leaves gathering on the ground. Suddenly needing a sweater when yesterday you didn’t.

Until one day we realise that the season has changed.

And perhaps something in us has changed with it.

That’s why I love looking at the Moon through the season rather than trying to find one definitive spiritual meaning for it.

Nature gives us something tangible to work with.

We can simply ask:

What is happening around me right now?

And then become curious about where that same movement might be happening within us.

There is something about this time of year that always makes me think about ripeness.

You can look at an apple on a tree and know when it’s nearly ready. Pick it too soon and it hasn’t had time to become what it was going to become. Leave it too long and you’ve missed the moment.

Our lives aren’t really all that different. Things ripen in us too.

Sometimes it’s obvious. We’ve worked towards something for months and finally there it is.

But sometimes the harvest is much quieter.

Perhaps you’ve become clearer about something. Perhaps a decision that felt impossible in spring doesn’t feel quite so impossible now. Maybe you’ve grown a boundary, changed your mind, found your voice, discovered something you want more of — or realised you’re simply done with something.

And we can be so busy asking ourselves what’s next? that we don’t stop long enough to recognise what is already ready.

Because something being ripe doesn’t automatically make it a harvest.

At some point we have to reach out and gather it.

And while we’re doing all this gathering, the birds are beginning to leave.

I love watching that shift. Somehow they know.

The light changes, the temperature changes, something tells them that the season they’re in is ending and it’s time to move.

And off they go.

Meanwhile, we humans can receive seventeen signals that something in our lives needs to change and still think, Mmmm… perhaps I need another sign. 😂

Maybe there is something you’re feeling pulled towards.

Or perhaps there is something you’ve known for quite some time that you’re ready to leave behind.

Not because it’s terrible. Not because you have to burn the whole bloody thing to the ground.

Simply because the season has changed.

Nature does this all around us without making it mean that something has gone wrong. The leaves change. Birds leave. Seeds scatter. Daylight disappears a little earlier. And the garden gets a little wilder.

Actually, considerably wilder.

There comes a point in autumn when Nature seems to stop giving a toss about looking tidy. 😂

Seed heads lean sideways. Leaves blow everywhere. Things tumble over each other. The garden that looked lush and organised a few weeks ago begins doing entirely its own thing.

I rather love that.

There’s something freeing about being reminded that life isn’t supposed to be perfectly managed.

Maybe we can loosen our grip a little too. Leave room for something unexpected.

Follow a curiosity. Do something simply because it brings us joy.

Spend a little less time managing our lives and a little more time actually experiencing them.

And perhaps that’s also why this change in season can feel so noticeable in our bodies.

The rhythm that suited us in July might not suit us now.

The days are shorter. The evenings cooler. The natural world is beginning to pull its energy inward.

Nature doesn’t try to preserve summer forever. Why do we expect ourselves to?

Changing our rhythm doesn’t mean abandoning ourselves.

Sometimes adapting is simply learning how to remain ourselves while the world around us changes.

Because we’re standing at that point right now. Summer hasn’t entirely disappeared.

Autumn hasn’t completely settled in. We’re somewhere in between. And perhaps we don’t need to rush through that.

We can simply notice.

Notice what’s ripe. Notice what’s changing. Notice what we’re being drawn towards. Notice what we’re ready to leave behind.

And maybe allow ourselves to move with the season rather than fighting to stay exactly where we’ve been.

Because Nature is beginning to turn inward. Perhaps we are too.

🌕 A Little Full Moon Magick

And because I don’t believe all Full Moon rituals need to be solemn, serious affairs involving seventeen candles and setting another bloody piece of paper on fire… 😂

This one involves bubbles.

Yes, bubbles.

A little breath. A little release. A little intention. And a lovely reminder that ritual can also contain play, wonder and joy.

If there is something you’re ready to let drift away with the changing season — and something you’d like to welcome in its place — grab your bubbles and come play beneath the Harvest Moon with me.

Happy Harvest Moon, Gorgeous Souls. 🌕🍎🍂

May you recognise what is ripe, gather what is yours, and trust the season you are actually in.

Coming Back to Yourself.

The Last New Moon of Summer

There is something about September that feels different.

You can almost see the Wheel turning.

The evenings arrive earlier. The mornings have a different feel. The light is changing. The garden is heavy with things that have spent all summer becoming. There is still summer here, but autumn is standing at the garden gate saying, Oi, I’m coming.

And frankly, I’m delighted. 😂

I’m not one of those people desperately clinging to the last hot days of summer. By September, I’m ready. Ready for cooler mornings, sweaters, earlier evenings and that first delicious crispness in the air.

There’s something about September that feels like an exhale.

A threshold.

And I bloody love a good threshold.

On September 10/11 we arrive at the last New Moon of summer, in earthy Virgo. After all that eclipse energy — the shifting, revealing and great big LEAP — this New Moon feels like putting our feet back on the earth.

We leapt.

We may not be entirely sure where the hell we’ve landed.

But here we are.

And perhaps the question isn’t Where am I going next?

Perhaps it’s simply:

What do I need now?

Virgo is connected with health, work, service, routines and the small details of everyday life.

Which could very easily become: New Moon! New habits! Organise everything! Buy a planner! Get up at 5 a.m.! Drink something green! Become a much better human by Tuesday!

Fuck that. 😂

What if you don’t need another self-improvement project?

What if this New Moon isn’t asking you to reinvent yourself?

What if it’s asking you to come back to yourself?

I’ve been thinking about the difference between routine and rhythm.

Routine can become something we impose upon ourselves. Rhythm asks us to listen.

Nature knows this.

My garden doesn’t arrive in September, look around and decide it hasn’t achieved enough and needs to get its shit together. It responds to the changing light, cooler nights, what has ripened, what needs gathering and what is beginning to let go.

Nature doesn’t stay in one mode all year. Why the hell do we expect ourselves to?

Maybe September is simply an invitation to notice the rhythm you need now.

What nourishes you? What are you tired of? What have you made far more complicated than it needs to be? Where is your energy going — and do you still want it going there?

That last question matters.

Virgo is also connected with service, and there can be a very fine line between service and self-abandonment.

We help. Fix. Accommodate. Carry. Understand everybody else’s needs. Manage the emotional weather.

And sometimes we become so bloody busy tending everybody else’s garden that we suddenly realise ours hasn’t been watered in weeks.

Coming back to yourself might mean remembering what is actually yours to tend.

Maybe that’s why this New Moon feels less like a beginning and more like a return.

Instead of asking, What new habits should I start?, try asking:

What would I like to return to?

Walking amongst the trees. Writing. Making something. Going to bed earlier. Sitting outside with your coffee. Dancing around the kitchen. Turning the bloody phone off. Spending time with people who make you laugh.

Those little things that make something inside you go:

Oh. There I am.

Virgo understands the power of small things.

And after eclipse season, perhaps small is exactly what we need.

We don’t need another great leap. We don’t need to know what the next six months look like.

We can put our feet on the earth, notice where we are and listen.

I’ve created a Virgo New Moon Ritual for Clarity, Health and Harmony to help you do exactly that — a little space to pause, clear some of the noise and notice what you want to tend as we move toward autumn.

So light your candle. Do the ritual. Get quiet.

And instead of asking who you’re supposed to become next, ask:

What would help me come home to myself?

The eclipse asked us to leap.

This New Moon invites us to land.

And September whispers:

Come home.

You don’t need to reinvent yourself, Gorgeous Soul.

Perhaps you simply need to come back to yourself. 🌑🍂

The Sacred Mid-Air, The Full Moon Eclipse, the Fool and the Courage to Leap.

Jenny Heston · 1:11 pm ·

Here we are in the middle of eclipse season, with the Full Moon Eclipse happening on August 27–28.

And I don’t know about you, but lately I have felt a bit as though I am free-falling.

I’ve been going through a great change in my life. A career change, a life change, some health changes, an identity change—and a deepening.

Like most change, it is hard to say exactly when it began.

Was it eight years ago when I moved to the Island, guided by a Solstice wish?

Was it six years ago, when I accompanied my sister through the end of her life?

Was it two years ago, when two close friends and my mother passed?

I don’t exactly know when the change began, but I do know that I am somewhere in the middle of the leap now.

Because this is what the leap looks like.

The word leap sounds lovely, doesn’t it? Weightless, buoyant and graceful in flight.

Yet that is not usually how a leap feels.

When I’m in the midst of one, some days I wake up and legitimately do not know what I’m doing. Sometimes that feels humorous, sometimes it feels liberating—and sometimes it is frigging terrifying.

On the excruciating days, the ones clearly designed to grind me into some kind of imago goo, I wake up and think:

I actually do not know who I am.

And that feels like both an ending and an invitation to live differently.

The ground beneath my feet is nowhere near as solid as it used to be. Income is shifting. Visions are slipping. Relationships are swaying and solidifying into something entirely new.

I can’t see the future like I used to.

Or perhaps I can—but only a step or two ahead, like walking a deliciously winding trail where I cannot see what is waiting around the next bend.

Some days I am filled with so much hope and joy that I can feel possibility fizzing beneath all the chaos.

Other days, I am inexplicably crushed by the uncertainty of it all.

I don’t know what comes next. Not truly. I see glimpses and catch whispers, but the whole picture remains just out of sight.

Yet I know that this feeling of weightless free-fall—no tether and no familiar ground—is somehow the sign I have been waiting for. Perhaps it is even the moment I have been praying for.

Because this is what the leap looks like.

The leap looks like being ungrounded for a moment. It looks like not knowing where your feet are.

It looks like glimpsing the whole wide world before you for one glorious second—before having to focus, somewhat blindly, on the unrecognizable blur of something new rushing towards you.

It looks like having no idea how you will reach the other side, while knowing you cannot get there if you keep even one foot pinned to the ground where you are.

So you leap. (Probably whilst cursing!)

This is the energy of the Fool in tarot, standing at the edge of the cliff and about to begin an entirely new journey.

The Fool has no map tucked into that tiny bundle.

There is no carefully constructed five-year plan, no list of guarantees and no certificate proving they are qualified for whatever comes next.

The Fool stands at the edge with an open heart, a wee dog at their heels and their face lifted towards the sun.

The dog may be offering a warning—or it may be the Fool’s instinct, joy and wildness saying, Oi, let’s go!

The Fool is numbered zero: the place before the beginning.

Zero is empty and yet contains everything. It is the pause before the first note, the blank page before the first word and the moment when every possibility still exists.

The Fool can appear naïve, but their energy is not about being careless or refusing to see what is in front of them. It is about refusing to let fear make every decision.

It is curiosity over certainty.

Trust over control.

Possibility over predictability.

The Fool reminds us that we are allowed to begin before we feel completely ready.

We are allowed to be new at something. We are allowed to change direction, travel lightly and leave behind the identities and expectations that have become too heavy to carry.

There is a glorious freedom in Fool energy. It does not ask, What will everyone think? It asks, What is calling me? What makes me feel alive? What might become possible if I take the next step?

And no, the Fool does not know exactly where the path will lead.

That is the whole frigging point.

The Fool’s journey does not begin with certainty. It begins with willingness—with the courage to step away from the familiar and meet life as it unfolds.

This is what the leap looks like.

You must be willing to enter that sacred mid-air. To have no familiar anchor for a moment. To allow both feet to leave the old ground—because there is no other way to arrive somewhere new.

But sometimes we are walking towards that cliff for years.

Sometimes we forget that there is anywhere else for us to be except on the edge—the edge of our limits, the edge of our familiar world, the edge of despair.

Sometimes there is so much weight we must put down before we can leap that the shedding feels as though it has become our whole life.

The world asks us to release layer after layer after layer.

The good girl. The people pleaser. The rescuer. The person we thought we had to be. The relationships we have outgrown. The dreams that no longer fit.

The versions of ourselves that once protected us but have now become too small to live inside.

And then, eventually, one day, we leap.

We always leap—even when we begin to believe it is impossible—because the leap is inevitable.

It is how the soul moves.

At our essence, we cannot help but continue to change, deepen, remember and evolve. And so we leap.

As our feet leave the ground, we have to remind ourselves:

Do not be afraid. This is what the leap looks like.

That is the energy of the Fool.

And it is the energy of this eclipse.

Eclipses uncover things. They illuminate what we have tucked away, ignored or convinced ourselves we can continue carrying.

They bring endings and beginnings together until it can be difficult to tell which is which.

Perhaps that is why they can feel so ungrounding. Something has ended, but the new thing has not yet fully arrived.

We are neither here nor there. We are mid-air.

Lately, I look around at my family, my community and this aching world and think:

Wow. What a leap we are taking.

What a time to be here on this planet, living inside this great mid-jump uncertainty.

It is an honour, really.

And it is an honour to keep walking towards that edge ourselves.

Because our individual leaps—our willingness to release, change, speak, choose and begin again—help create the collective energy the world needs to make its own leap towards healing.

So, if you too are feeling the endless expanse of mid-air during this eclipse season…

If you read this and recognize yourself in the simple, uncomfortable sensation of not knowing…

If you sense a new era coming but cannot yet see what it will look like for you…

Take a breath. You do not need to know exactly where you are going.

You do not need to make the leap look graceful.

You do not need to have a tidy plan, the perfect answer or a frigging clue what happens next.

You simply need to remember:

You are not falling, Gorgeous Soul.

You are leaping.

And this is exactly how we reach the other side.

May This Eclipse Be Your Mirror.

The New Moon Solar Eclipse in Leo — August 12, 2026

“May this Eclipse be your mirror.

A loving embrace from Life. A reminder of your heart and a reflection of your belonging.

May it celebrate the strange, glorious and utterly unique being that you are.

May it shine a clear and loving light upon you, allowing you to be seen, recognised and witnessed—not for the role you play or the mask you wear, but for who you truly are.“

On Wednesday, August 12th, we welcome a New Moon Solar Eclipse in Leo—and this is not a quiet, polite little New Moon content to sit unnoticed in the corner.

It arrives humming with beginnings, beauty and delicious aliveness. It carries Leo’s warmth, courage, creativity, joy and play, reminding us that we are each part of Life creating itself. Every time we allow ourselves to be fully expressed, we add something to this world that could come through no one else.

How glorious is that?

But beneath Leo’s bright, bold energy, this Eclipse also moves into the tender terrain of the heart—into the places where our desire to be seen became tangled with the pain of not being seen. Where we were overlooked, dismissed or made to feel we were too much, too loud, too strange—or somehow never enough.

The South Node in Leo turns this Eclipse into a healing chamber, allowing us to meet the grief of not being truly recognised by others, as well as all the times we failed to recognise ourselves.

Because wanting to be seen is not vanity.

Wanting our aliveness to be met—by ourselves, another person, Life and Creation—is a fundamental human need. It is natural, beautiful and sacred.

Yet many of us were taught not to draw attention to ourselves, take up too much space or shine too brightly in case we made someone else uncomfortable.

So we adapted.

We learned to perform, perfect, protect or disappear. We tucked away the wild laugh, the creative dream, the unusual idea and the pieces of ourselves that didn’t fit neatly into the boxes we were handed. Sometimes we confused visibility with being seen, admiration with intimacy and attention with love.

But none of those things could truly lead us home.

Home is not another person’s applause. Home is not being liked by everyone—and thank goodness for that, because some people have dreadful taste.

Home is remembering the aliveness within us that never actually left.

Remembering the Self Beneath the Performance

This Eclipse invites us to meet the places where we have forgotten our own radiance and natural creativity.

Where have you made yourself smaller to remain acceptable?

Where are you performing a version of yourself that no longer feels true?

Where have you mistaken fitting in for belonging?

And where have you become so skilled at being who everyone else needs that you can no longer hear the voice of your own heart?

These questions are not new and exciting sticks with which to beat ourselves. There is no need for shame here. The shapes we took often helped us find safety, affection or belonging when we didn’t know another way.

We can honour those old protections without continuing to live inside them.

We can forgive the shapes our longing took while trying to lead us home.

And we can release the belief that shining is selfish, speaking our truth makes us difficult or expressing ourselves takes something away from someone else.

Your light does not diminish mine.

My creativity does not steal yours.

The full expression of one person adds to Creation.

Belonging Without Disappearing

This Eclipse also opens a new collective season. The North Node has moved into Aquarius, while the South Node has entered Leo, beginning a cycle that continues into 2028.

Leo speaks to the individual heart—our creativity, courage and unique expression. Aquarius speaks to community, collective possibility and the future we create together.

But this is not an invitation to abandon ourselves for the sake of the group or to become beige so everyone feels comfortable.

We are learning to enter community without erasing ourselves within it.

To stop confusing sameness with belonging and agreement with intimacy.

We are learning to enter community without erasing ourselves within it.

To stop confusing sameness with belonging and agreement with intimacy.

Real community does not require us to chop off the colourful, quirky, brilliant and occasionally inconvenient pieces of ourselves before we are allowed through the door.

A forest does not thrive because every tree is identical. It flourishes because each being brings its own medicine while remaining connected to the whole.

The invitation is to stand among one another without abandoning ourselves—to let our individuality become an offering rather than a performance.

An Old Story Returns Differently

We have not experienced an eclipse in Leo since the lunar eclipse of January 2019. If memories, photographs or old journal entries from that time begin tugging at your sleeve, pay attention.

You are not necessarily being dragged backwards. You may be meeting an old story with stronger boundaries, new eyes and a deeper awareness of who you are now.

For the previous South Node eclipse in Leo, we must travel back to February 2009. You might gently reflect upon who you were then, what you believed you had to do to be accepted and which parts of yourself were quietly waiting for permission to emerge.

Eclipses illuminate longer patterns. They reveal what has been moving beneath the surface and invite change that unfolds over time. You do not need to understand everything by August 12th, nor must you manifest an entirely new life before breakfast.

You are allowed to pause, listen and let what is true reveal itself slowly.

A Playful Ritual for the Eclipse

With all this talk of being seen, reclaiming our aliveness and allowing ourselves to shine, it felt only right to create a ritual that doesn’t require us to sit solemnly in the dark pretending to be impressively spiritual.

This is Leo, after all.

The Glorious Reveal is a playful New Moon Solar Eclipse ritual involving a mirror, a homemade crown, music and some dancing of potentially questionable quality. It is an invitation to step out from behind the roles you have been performing, reclaim a piece of yourself you may have tucked away and celebrate the glorious being who has been there all along.

You do not need to become anything new.

You are simply being invited to see, welcome and express more of who you already are.

So gather your supplies, choose a song that makes you feel wonderfully alive and prepare to crown yourself—wonky paper crown and all.

May This Eclipse Be Your Mirror

May this Eclipse reflect the Self beneath the masks, roles and old protections.

May it remind you that being seen begins with a willingness to see yourself—the unruly creativity, the glorious weirdness, the fierce tenderness and the life force within you.

May you release the belief that you must perform for love, perfect yourself for belonging or disappear for the comfort of others.

Your aliveness is sacred.

Your joy matters.

Your creativity is an offering.

Your voice belongs in the conversation.

And your light was never the problem.

May this Eclipse be a loving embrace from Life, whispering:

I see you.

I recognise you.

You belong.

Now, will you allow yourself to shine?

The trees are loosening their grip, Gorgeous Soul. The trees are loosening their grip, Gorgeous Soul. What are you ready to release? 🍂

Sitting in a glorious pile of leaves, I pulled October’s card: Unfurl the Wings of Forgiveness.

Accountability and compassion. The courage to own your part, the tenderness to forgive yourself, and boundaries that honour both.

There’s autumn magick in this invitation—and a little delicious mischief, too.

It’s easy to think of yourself as a good man. The It’s easy to think of yourself as a good man. The harder question is: who are you when it’s just you and the boys?

When the joke crosses the line.
When the group chat turns ugly.
When a woman is being degraded.
When you know something is wrong.

Do you speak up, even if it costs you your place in the group?

Because women cannot be in every room asking men to respect us.

Men have to demand it from each other.

So I’m asking men: when was the last time you called out another man?

Don’t just teach your sons not to hurt women. Teach them not to stand silently beside men who do.
Summer is letting go. 🍂 Can you feel it? The lig Summer is letting go. 🍂

Can you feel it?

The light has changed. The evenings are arriving earlier. Leaves are turning, birds are gathering and Nature is beginning that slow, delicious turn inward.

Then on September 26th comes the Harvest Full Moon. 🌕

And maybe she’s not asking:

What’s next?

Maybe she’s asking:

What is already ripe?

What has quietly grown in you this season?

What are you ready to gather?

And what might you finally be ready to let fall?

I’ve written a new Harvest Moon piece through my Seasonal Lens, with journal prompts and one of my favourite slightly ridiculous rituals.

It involves bubbles.

Of course it bloody does. 😂🫧

🍂 Tomorrow, the Wheel turns. For one delicious mo 🍂 Tomorrow, the Wheel turns.

For one delicious moment, we stand at the threshold between seasons.

Before rushing into autumn, what if you stopped long enough to look back?

At the summer you actually lived.
At what surprised you.
What challenged you.
What delighted you.
What quietly grew while you were busy doing other things.

You don’t need a perfect harvest.

You only need to recognise what is already in your hands.

🍂 What grew in you while you were busy living? Th 🍂 What grew in you while you were busy living?

That’s the question sitting at the heart of Mabon: The Gathering.

Not what did you accomplish?

Not did summer go according to plan?

But what grew?

A boundary?
A truth?
Some courage?
A delicious bit of weirdness?
Maybe something you didn’t even realise was a harvest until now.

I created a 24-page Mabon journey filled with reflection, journalling, ritual, harvest magick and a five-card Tarot/Oracle spread.

Because before we charge into the next season…

perhaps we should notice who arrived here. 🍎

Today is exactly one week before my birthday, I to Today is exactly one week before my birthday, I took a leap and received a “channelled” tattoo.

Was I sceptical? Abso-frigging-lutely. I wouldn’t even see the design until two hours before my appointment.

Then the image arrived—and I fell completely in love.

An apple, lavender, chamomile, rosemary, hare’s-foot fern and glorious Amanita mushrooms, all woven together beneath the stars and the sweep of the Milky Way.

Every piece holds meaning. Together, they form a tiny wild universe—a botanical talisman of nature, healing, memory, resilience, cosmic wonder and a wee bit of Fae mischief.

And now it rests above my heart, exactly where it belongs.

@inkspired_.tattoo.studio , you are an extraordinary human. This was so much more than a tattoo—it was a soulful, intentional experience and the perfect birthday gift.

A little wild.
A little witchy.
A little cosmic.
A little Fae.
And entirely me. 🍎🌿🍄✨
