Solstice Special

Faeries, Whales and Intention.

Jenny Heston · 1:00 am ·

Happy, happy Magickal, Miraculous, Magnificent, Musical, Majestic, Mighty Monday!Ā  How was your Solstice and Eclipse?Ā  Mine was Miraculous! (Ha, I slid another M in there).Ā  I basically spent the majority of the weekend doing deep visualisations, huge energy work, glorious ritual and some spell casting.Ā  With the chant Om Namo Narayani (I surrender to the Divine Mother), playing in the background along with the delicious Jason Mraz song – Wise Woman.Ā Ā

Before I share with you, let me ask a question. Do you believe in MAGICK? (You will see why I asked in a moment).

On Saturday I made a glorious Faery dance circle out of orange and yellow flowers on the beach (close enough so that when high tide came in they would gently be washed out to sea as an offering).  And as I was placing the flowers with mindfulness I looked up for a moment and was gifted not one, not two, but THREE WHALES!  Two adults and a baby swimming between them.  I was in awe!  They are so majestic and exude a strong energy of wisdom, deep diving and peace, and I watched them undulate up and down, blowing water up and out – it was magickal.

After they had left I turned back to my faery circle and was placing flowers gently (as some of them were rather wee), when I heard this strange noise behind me.  I glanced over my shoulder to see what it was and was gobsmacked!  A huge otter had come out of the ocean and was sitting about 2 feet away from me watching!  Um, err, what?  So all I could think of doing was offering him/her a dried sardine (as I always carry them with me by the ocean).  He grabbed it off the rocks and disappeared back into the water.  Thank goodness Danu was way down the beach trying to steal some other dogs ball, or that could have been tricky as otters can be fierce!

That night, after a lovely candle ritual in the dark, I got out one of my antique teacups and poured some good white wine into it and grabbed some biccies I had made and took them out to place next to the driftwood tree, I had put up at Winter Solstice, in the middle of my garden – as an offering to the Fae.

Sunday morning when I went to take Danu out the teacup was neatly sitting by the bottom of my stairs.  WTF?  Empty and tidy.  I noticed one of the biccies was gone and the other one had wee little bites taken out of it.  Um.  An animal wouldn’t have neatly placed the teacup by my stairs nor have left a biccie, and no human could have walked into the garden (as it’s built in a spiral) without Danu hearing.  Way cool!

So my darlings there is magick in you, around you and everywhere – if you just look for it and welcome it in!Ā

Okay, many ofĀ you have messaged saying ā€œDo I still have time to set intentions and do ritual or did it all have to be done on the weekend?ā€Ā Ā

You most certainly do!

The window is open for about 5 – 6 days so grab that energy, use it as with this last eclipse we are very much at a new dawn, a new day, a new way!Ā  So yes, grab the Book of Summer Solstice (and thank you so much to all who shared the rituals they chose to do) and get clear on who you are and what is your vision.Ā  Oh yes, and the Solstice reading special is still on for a few more days and there are about 5 spots left (for those of you who have asked.)

As I shared on my FB live – the intentions I have set at Solstice and Equinox time have been soul affirming and life changing!

Okay, enough chuntering on.Ā  Let’s crack on with the reading! So when I asked who wanted to come and share this week I nearly wet myself laughing!Ā  The glorious guides of The Oracle of the Dragonfae were most adamant (I mean most adamant!)Ā

(You seriously can’t make this shit up!)

Now if these guides are new to you, let me introduce them (as that’s the polite thing to do).  Feel their love.  Know your power….the Dragonfae are our flesh and soul kin, our friends, our guardians and our allies.  When we connect with them, we reconnect with the lost parts of ourselves, allowing us to fully explore the gift of life.  These guides are the magickal and mystical that weave through the threads of every day, they are the Dragonfae, Gods and Goddesses who dwelt in dimensional lands….Eden, Avalon, Ys, Atlantis and Mu, they are Morgan, Guenevere, Merlin and others – fully alive and filled with magick! They are the deliciously magickal beings that have always been there, we just forgot, and when we connect with them, we reconnect with the lost parts of ourselves, allowing us to fully explore the gift of life on this beautiful green and blue planet, known by some as Gaia, by others as Dana, and by many other names.

The crystals that wiggled and jiggled to participate made me smile.  Amethyst – is a powerful and protective stone.  It guards against psychic attack, transmuting the energy into love and protecting the wearer from all types of harm, including geopathic or electromagnetic stress and ill wishes from others.  Amethyst is a natural tranquiliser.  Citrine – has the nickname of ā€œThe Merchants Stoneā€, as it’s most certainly involved with money, manifestation and marvellousness!  Last but not least, Pyrite – Like a trusted bodyguard, Pyrite is great for the third chakra, enhances will power and helps overcome anxiety.  A fabulous rebalancer and manifestation stone.

Gorgeous sprigs of Lemon Balm grabbed at me as I came in to write.  Lemon Balm holds the magic of quiet, steady trust.  So with all that being said, let’s go explore.

Take a moment to just BE.Ā  Breathe a lovely exhale out and then allow a deep gorgeous belly breath in.Ā  Breathe until you are ready to pick.Ā  If you want to go a little deeper into getting clear I have a lovely guided visualisation for you (we are heading to the beach!)

Beach and Blessing

Did you remember to pick?

Let’s go meet your guides.

LADY OF THE NEW BUDS

See how my garden has grown about me?  See how my children, the darling buds, clamour for my attention?  They cry at night and can be so touchy during the day!  I must shelter them from harshness and keep them in a safe place, till they are strong enough to branch out….even then, my watchful eye will look out for their care.

You see, so many people see the beauty, and do not understand where it sprang from; the rich, loamy soil.  The sweet water poured from the water-Dragonfae into this earth, the minerals of the natural realms, the light of the Sun and the shining sweetness of the crystal moon have all anointed my garden with their blessings.  And then there is me.  So many see my garden, and wonder at it, but they do not see the work and the care that has preceded my domain.  Its beauty is a result of love, care, natural growth and attention to each and every one of its inhabitants.

When your growth appears around you, from the seeds you have planted, take time to tend this garden.  Enlist the assistance of like-minded souls, and just as you would not feed these tender buds poisons and pollutants, do not feed your ideas the opinions and energies of those who are not in integrity.  Stay true to the vision of your creation and truly take a little time each day to tend this garden, be it of love, ideas, little ones or creative endeavours, until they are robust and begin to grow into their own energy.  For now, it is the tender time, the time when the buds are at most risk from the frost of rejection, the poison of judgement, and the choke of cruelty.  Be vigilant, and you too will have a garden for all to enjoy and love.

Many will feel you’re fortunate indeed to have created such a beautiful Eden, but they will not see the care you have taken to grow this.  But I have seen.  I have seen it all.  Whisper to her your dreams and ideas, plant your seeds, and watch them grow.  Allow her to inspire you with care for your own budding projects, beings, loves and responsibilities.

The emergence will come at the right time, because the bud will be forced to flower at some stage – do not allow yourself to wither in the bud.  Divine guidance needs practical application and work.  Action teamed with inspiration will create a beautiful, bountiful paradise.  Work hard at what it is  you love.

THE TIME GUARDIAN

The feelings you have, of time contracting and expanding, are real insights, not simply your imagination.  Time is a living dimensional being, whose powers include the ability to devote more time to those of us who require it, and for time to speed up or slow down then it may be necessary, too.  It is in this way that we are able to divine and travel through the threads and weavings of time, and move forward into seeing our future…in truth, we are already there.  And much of who we truly are remains an echo.  The time beings of the Dragonfae, of whom I am one, know this, and guard and protect you from confusion.  Similarly, they can assist you when you require time to be created.

If you feel you are short of time, send a thought message to me, the Guardian of Time, and I will send you all the help you need to meet your goals within the time you feel you have.  Know that time is available to work for and with you; you need only tune into it as a dimensional reality, and connect with the time beings.  Know that you are a timeless being.  Know that you are dimensionally vast, that you are protected, cherished and loved.

If you work with time rather than trying to compartmentalise, control and define it, if we return to the lunar and solar and astronomical ways, if we celebrate the time changes apparent in nature all around us with the Wheel of the Year, then the time span we have will be richer and more joyful, our vocations will be discovered and we will no longer struggle to cram so much into our days.  Because changing our perceptions is such a mammoth task, the Time Guardian is sometimes very tired, as the prevailing human mindset now is of time needing to be constrained and watched.  He encourages us all to experience the natural flow of the energy we call time, and experience its multi-dimensionality.  There is one simple way to work with him.  Be in the present moment, more often.

THE MORRIGHAN

I see now that events are moving extremely fast; this is a time of rapid change and creation, so rapid that you may wish to slow down, just a little.  However I say to you clearly that the time to act is now; and that procrastination and hesitation are your enemies at this time.  I can lead you forward through this time, and help you pick your way through the minefield before you.  This is a time of testing and darkness, but through this you will grow strong.  Be aware!  If you have resisted your abilities, or felt blocked in terms of following your life path, these changes will take place very rapidly because they have been waiting for a signal to be able to come in, and they are working hard with you so you do not have to endure a long, drawn-out process of change.  Truly, you are ready.  Take flight with me, and know that taking your own path seriously and acting now with deep integrity, is the way for justice to reach you.

Do not give in to panic and do not run.  Now is the time.  If not now, when?

You have already tortured yourself in a thousand ways with your thoughts.  You cannot avoid change; each day your cells renew, and all you have to do is breathe in and out for this process to take place.  You are confusing stasis with safety – there is nothing to fear, there is everything to gain.  A turning point in your life demands action on your behalf, and backing down or avoidance is not the answer.  Draw strong boundaries and claim your space.  Face trouble rather than turning away.  Confront injustice and change the rules by which you have felt bound.  Learn to work with your strength and your own ability to create deep change.  Lose fear of your own power.  Let your courage feel inspired and know that destiny has given you an opportunity to be the courageous being of action that you truly are.

Oh my gosh, I love, love, love the cards!Ā  Such perfect messages and insight for where we all are right now.Ā  So my gorgeous one, a last gentle reminder that the Solstice Reading Special ends this week and the Book of Summer Solstice will be removed in 3 days.Ā  Have an amazing week!Ā  Be gentle with yourself and others, take time out to just BE and allow the energy to move through you and not get stuck in you.Ā  Massive Hugs and Squeezes.Ā  See you next week!

Winter Solstice and 9 Glorious Rituals to Tap into the Energy and Mysteries.

Jenny Heston · 8:18 am ·

ā€œI wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says, “Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.ā€

~ Lewis Carroll

I love Winter Solstice and I can feel the energy of it for a few weeks before it even arrives.  It’s dark far earlier, much colder outside and there is a desire to cocoon, wear warmer clothes and eat soup (at least for me).  There is a sensation of reflection, going inwards and questioning that arrives naturally from this energy. To me this is a time where I notice those ā€œmehā€ moments more and really examine my life and ask the question ā€œAm I showing up and embodying what I am called to do?ā€ That’s why, to me, I feel it vital to take some time out to honour this energy and work with it which in turn allows me to feel aligned.  In fact I feel more balanced, connected and inspired after I have taken some time.

As a kid I used to be scared of the dark, I felt it held things that were terrifying and uncomfortable.  As an adult I have learned that’s not true and have become willing to walk into the darkness and allow myself to get comfortably uncomfortable and dig deep, explore the mysteries and embrace all aspects of being human.  Light and dark.  You can’t have one without the other!  Winter Solstice invites us with a safe open hand to step into the place of mystery, the warm comforting dark that wraps around us like a cosy blankie.  Whispering in our ear – rest, be, embrace, release, create, imagine, grow ……….

So what is Winter Solstice and why celebrate it?  Why take the time to honour it? The Pagan celebration of Winter Solstice (also known as Yule) is one of the oldest winter celebrations in the world.  Winter Solstice takes place on the day where the night is the longest and the hours of sun or daylight are the shortest. In fact ā€œSolsticeā€ comes from two Latin words: sol meaning “sun” and sistere meaning ā€œto stand stillā€ because it appeared as though the sun and moon had stopped moving across the sky. This longest night of the year, followed by a renewal of the sun, demonstrates the cyclical order of the cosmos. In this way, celebrating the solstice can be a beautiful remembrance that our lives are part of a larger order, always changing, always renewing.  It’s a gorgeous invitation to not be afraid of the dark or the shadow, as it is in that place is where we shift, grow and recharge.

Winter Solstice has been celebrated in various forms and for thousands of years across a myriad of cultures, all who are willing to step into the darkness and wait to welcome back the light. (And if you lived in medieval times that’s pretty ballsy!

In Britain long before the arrival of Christianity. The Druids (Celtic priests) would cut the mistletoe that grew on the oak tree and give it as a blessing. Oaks were seen as sacred and the winter fruit of the mistletoe was a symbol of life in the dark winter months.  It was also the Druids who began the tradition of the Yule log. The Celts thought that the sun stood still for twelve days in the middle of winter and during this time a log was lit to conquer the darkness, banish evil spirits and bring luck for the coming year.

There was Saturnalia in Ancient Rome which began on December 17 and lasted for 7 days.  These celebrations were held from as far back as around 217 BC to honour Saturn, the father of the gods.

Feast of Juul – This is where we get the term Yule from at this time of year, was a pre-Christian festival observed in Scandinavia at the time of the December solstice.  People would light fires to symbolize the heat and light of the returning sun and a Juul (or Yule) log was brought in and dropped in the hearth as as a tribute to the Norse god Thor.  This log was burned until nothing but ash remained. The ashes were then collected and either strewn on the fields as fertiliser every night until Twelfth Night or kept as a charm.

Yalda – or Shab-e-Chelleh (night of fourty) is an Iranian festival celebrated on the ā€œlongest and darkest night of the yearā€ – Solstice.  Every year, on December 21st, Iranians celebrate the arrival of winter, the renewal of the sun and the victory of light over darkness on Yalda Night.

Santo Tomas – a celebration in Guatemala where the Mayan Indians indulged in the ritual known as the Palo Volador, or ā€œflying pole dance.ā€  Three men climb on top of a 50 foot pole as one of them beats a drum and plays a flute. The other two men wind a rope attached to the pole around one foot and jump.  If they land on their feet, it is believe that the sun god will be pleased and that the days will start getting longer.

So if you were in doubt that Winter Solstice might be fictitious or flaky baky, let me assure you – nope.  If I were to try and explain this celebration in a nutshell it would be a time for introspection, embracing of the shadow, a willingness to walk into the dark, to then celebrate the returning of the light within and without.  This is a celebration of honouring the dark before calling into the light. Also, as a side note, Winter Solstice may occur on one day, however, this is a season of Winter we enter where we walk with the dark far more and allow ourselves to release what no longer serves us.

Let’s talk rituals – some people get really weirded out when the word ā€œritualā€ is mentioned.  So let’s put some myths aside right now – there is no right way or wrong way, you don’t have to have all the ingredients for a certain ritual, it doesn’t need to be complex and over the top (but if that’s your style, go for it).  I personally like simple rituals that I can do with my kids, on my own, with friends I trust and I don’t ever want them to feel like I am adding to my ā€œto doā€ list, especially in this frenzied time.

To me ritual is intentional and all about creating space for you to tap into the seasons, the reasons and yourself. Ritual is intention made manifest into physical form.  By performing simple rituals with personal meaning to celebrate the solstice, these rituals will serve as touchstones to help you cultivate an attitude of receptiveness and appreciation that will carry you through the holiday season with more ease. A good starting point might be to make a promise this winter to spend more time listening, watching, and honoring the slower, quieter rhythm of the season.

Always, always start with setting the space.  Whether it is lighting a candle, hanging a wreath of evergreens or just sitting in silence for a while. Honour yourself, your connection to Gaia and Spirit, the celebration and get clear on your intention. Let’s explore 9 easy and amazing rituals to help you tap into this gorgeous energy, gain more peace and clarity and release whatever is not serving you. There is also a fabulous Winter Solstice visualisation to really help you explore the energy of this season.

Oh yes, and as an aside many of you have asked if the Solstice Special for Private Readings will be available after Solstice. Nope. The Solstice Special ends at midnight on December 21st. So take advantage of it now and if you want to start 2019 off with a fabulous private reading to help you set the tone of the year, we can do that!

This Sagittarius full blue moon is bringing a cosmic green light for growth, expansion and taking the leap into the known (and unknown).

It’s here to free you from the confines of your comfort zone, illuminate the beliefs and fears that have kept you small, and call you towards the fullest and truest expansion of yourself.

You may already be feeling the restlessness building. A feeling that something needs to change. That you’ve outgrown certain parts of your life, limiting thoughts, old stories or ways of being that no longer fit the version of you you’re becoming.

This moon wants you to stop waiting for some imaginary future and begin taking steps towards the life your heart and soul truly yearn for now.

You’ll know deep down where you’re being called to go and what you’re being called to do and yes, it may feel big. But your soul wouldn’t call you into it if you weren’t ready.

This is your once-in-a-blue-moon moment to believe in yourself, stretch beyond what feels comfortable, trust your path and take the leap.

Just like the Sagittarius archer, draw back your bow, take aim for what you want and go for it.

The Taurus new moon is a powerful reminder that we The Taurus new moon is a powerful reminder that we cannot hear the guidance or receive and anchor in the new energies and frequencies coming in when we are in a state of dysregulation or high alert.

The world is getting quicker and louder, and many of us are being pulled in too many different directions by too many different demands on our time, energy and attention, leaving us feeling overwhelmed, overloaded and agitated.

This moon is asking us to consciously slow down, unplug from the noise of the outside world and take back our attention from anywhere it’s scattered. Because when our attention is scattered, our power and awareness leak, making it easier to feel lost, uncertain and disconnected from ourselves.

This moon is asking us to root deeply into ourselves, regulate our nervous systems and reconnect to our own wisdom, because only from a grounded and rooted place can we truly receive and anchor in the new frequencies and possibilities trying to come through.

How are you being called to slow down and reconnect to yourself under this moon?

We’re taught early what it means to be a ā€œgoodā€ wo We’re taught early what it means to be a ā€œgoodā€ woman.
.
.
Be nice and agreeable. Don’t make people uncomfortable...even if it means you are.
.
.
We learn to shrink ourselves to keep the peace. To smile when something feels off. To choose politeness over protection.
.
.
But here’s the thing… that version of ā€œnatureā€ we’re told to follow? It’s not reality.
.
.
Look at females in the wild. They protect their territory. They defend their young. They set boundaries without apology. They don’t soften themselves to make others comfortable. They survive because they don’t ignore their instincts....Somewhere along the way, we were taught to override ours.
.
.
Being kind is not the same as being compliant. Being compassionate does not require self-abandonment... And your discomfort is not something you owe the world.

.
You are allowed to take up space, say no and choose yourself.

Bealtaine blessings! šŸŒøšŸŒæšŸ§ššŸ¼ In the Celtic lands, the Bealtaine blessings! šŸŒøšŸŒæšŸ§ššŸ¼ In the Celtic lands, the ancient festival of Bealtaine marks the start of the summer season.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Traditionally Bealtaine did not have a fixed date, though it has come to be celebrated by many in modern times on the first of May (and here in Ireland, this week has indeed very much felt like our first glimpse of summer).⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
At this time of year we celebrate the greening, fertility, and abundance of the natural world. The land is bursting with life all around us, renewed from the long sleep of winter.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Much like the festival of Samhain, which sits opposite from Bealtaine on the ever-turning wheel of the year, this is a liminal time when the veil between our physical realm and the spiritual Otherworld thins.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
It is said here in Ireland that the SĆdhe, the fairy folk, are more likely pass through the fairy forts, ancient burial mounds, and other ā€œthin placesā€ at this time of year (and folks who wander near these places may likewise find themselves wandering into the Otherworld).⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Many of the rituals performed during this festival are protective in nature.⁣ Perhaps the most time-honored of these rites is the Bealtaine bonfire šŸ”„ ⁣If you are unable to light a large fire, candle magic is a good option as well.⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
This energy makes Bealtaine a potent time for spirit work, hedge crossing (i.e. trance journeying), and divination. ⁣Similarly, you may have noticed your dreams becoming more vivid, or you might even experience prophetic or lucid dreams. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣
In my own practice, getting out onto the land to connect with the local spirits is one of the most important aspects of this day.⁣ I gather herbs and flowers, have a picnic, sing, dance, and share offerings with the local spirits of place šŸŒ€
