Remembrance

A Week of Remembering, Realigning, and Reawakening Hope.

Jenny Heston · 2:02 pm ·

Hello gorgeous soul,

Settle in with a warm cup of tea or coffee and take a breath. This week brings us into a powerful convergence of energies—Mercury Retrograde, Remembrance Day, and the 11:11 manifestation portal.

It’s a time of reflection, remembering, and conscious intention.

Let’s walk through it together.

Mercury Retrograde (Beginning November 9)

Mercury Retrograde often gets a dramatic reputation, but in truth, it is a deeply supportive astrological phase—if we work with it instead of resisting it.

Think of Mercury Retrograde as a sacred pause.
A chance to realign.

Mercury Retrograde =
Revised
Redefined
Reconsidered
Reclaimed

This is an ideal time to:

  • Listen to your intuition, not the noise around you
  • Pay attention to dreams and symbols
  • Reconnect with people from your past who truly matter
  • Return to unfinished projects and bring them to completion
  • Feel into what is true for you now—not what used to be
  • Come home to what is important

Retrograde is not here to disrupt. It is here to guide us back to ourselves.

Remembrance Day – November 11

Remembrance Day, or Armistice Day, marks the end of World War I—at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.

Every year, we hear the phrase: “Lest We Forget.”

But what are we remembering?

Not just history. Not just battles.

But humanity. Sacrifice. Courage. The cost of peace.

As a woman who has:

  • Served in the military reserves,
  • Served as a reserve police officer,
  • Been raised by and walked alongside those who served,

I hold this day with deep respect.

I have never known war on my doorstep.
I have never feared for the safety of my family as the world crumbled outside.
I know I am blessed.

The poppy, for me, is a symbol of:

  • Honour for those who served
  • Love for those who are still away from home
  • And hope—a hope for peace that is still possible

Even when the world feels heavy, we can choose to remember the human longing for peace and the power of collective empathy.

11:11 – A Portal of Manifestation & Alignment

Remembrance Day also holds the 1111 energy—an angelic and astrological activation.

11 is a master number.
1111 is a doorway.

This energy heightens:

  • Intuition
  • Manifestation
  • Synchronicity
  • Alignment with your soul path

It’s why people say to make a wish at 11:11. It’s not superstition—it’s resonance.

Close your eyes and remember the last time that you set an intention.

Did you feel doubtful that your wish would come true, or did you have faith that the universe was listening, ready to help you bring your vision to life?

This day invites you to set intentions clearly and with faith.

Another simple way to harness this energy is to free flow and write for 11 minutes about all your heart’s desires and intentions.  At the end of the 11 minutes, go back and highlight the words that inspire you, make you feel hopeful, excited and then formulate them into an intention.

If you wanted to go a step further you could make a sacred Sigil!

As I tuned in for this week, I asked, “What is the most important message for us to receive right now?” And the guidance came through clearly, softly, lovingly:

This is a time of remembering your own inner wisdom.

You are not separate from Source.
You are never alone in your growth, your healing, your longing, or your becoming.

Your guides are asking you to slow down long enough to hear your own soul speaking.

So holding that in your heart and soul, take a deep breath and breathe in Hope.

If you need a bit more support there is a wee guided visualisation for you.

Did you remember to pick?

Come have a look.

FLOW

A meandering river is a waterway that curves, bends, turns, and seems to swing side to side as it flows forward.  Viewed from above it looks sinuous and even snakelike.  Meandering rivers are dynamic as they wind their way across valley floors and bring life-giving sediment to new habitats.

The word meander was derived from the ancient Meander River, which flows into the Aegean Sea.  The Greeks created symbols for “meander” that have been described as some of the most important symbols for ancient Greek culture; they represented the fluid movement of water and the eternal flow of all life.

The twisting patterns were also thought to represent the serpent which was the symbol of healing, hence our present day symbol for doctors is the caduceus.

What does this sacred landscape want you to know?

There are times to hold on tight to the shore, and there are times to enter the flow.  Notice where life is going and move in that direction,  Watch for signs and follow them.  Don’t resist.

When you go with the flow, your life-force expands and healing on all levels abounds.

This is also the time to release old, limiting patterns, forgive, and let go of the need to be right about your beliefs.  If you aren’t feeling the smooth currents of life, it might mean that you’re being self-critical and judgmental.

When you enter the flow with gratitude and love, you will find blessings surrounding you.  You will enter into a state of grace, and healing will abound.

ENLIGHTENMENT

Our beautiful home galaxy is so large that if you traveled at the speed of light, it would take you 100,000 years to go from one end to the other. (It is small compared to some galaxies – for example, the Hercules A galaxy would take 1.5 million years to cross at the speed of light.)

The realm of galaxies is so vast and so wide that it is beyond human comprehension, which is why the galaxy often symbolises great enlightenment as well a faith in the forces much greater than us.

So what does this sacred landscape want you to know?

Enlightenment occurs when one steps out of the confines of an ordinary definition of self and expands into a greater awareness of the self within the Universe.  You are now reaching into the invisible realm of Spirit and connecting with what  you cannot see.  Forces beneath the surface are supporting you on your journey.

Have FAITH in yourself!  You are so much more than you believe yourself to be. Have patience that there is a plan unfolding.  The sky’s the limit!  You are entering into a time of expansive transformation in a luminous and remarkable way.

Trust that the changes ahead are for the greater good, for most certainly they are.  And if you ever doubt, step outside and let the stars remind you!

SECURITY

In ancient times, our forebears took refuge in caves.  It was there that they could seek shelter from the weather and be protected from predators and enemies.  The cave offered a safe place to prepare food, sleep, heal, and build community.

Caves were also the places where sacred spiritual ceremonies occurred, evidenced by cave drawings and altars that had been built along the ledges.  Symbolically, caves often represented a secret pathway to the underworld, the divine womb of Mother Earth, and the sacred heart.  Also, caves can be energy portals for shamans or other spiritual explorers.

What does this Sacred Landscape have to share with you?

You are safe and protected.  No matter what is occurring in your life, you are in safe hands.  Those in the realm of Spirit are watching over you.  You can relax and let go.

Once you’ve taken measures to protect  yourself and those you love – such as making sure everyone has their seat belt on in the car, making  sure your insurance is paid on time, or replacing the filter on your heating unit – then let it go!

If you have been hypervigilant lately, take a break.  Relax; know that all is well  You can turn it all over to the Creator.  And when you forget, breathe into the warm, welcoming cave that is held in your heart!

Wowzer, what glorious messages for this week.  How did yours resonate for you?  So gorgeous one, I wish for you a wonderful week filled with Hope, Flow, Enlightenment and Ease.   Big hugs and squeezes!  (And Remember to Remember).

Remembering and Stepping into the Portal of 11:11 energy!

Jenny Heston · 3:53 pm ·

Hello delicious lovely!!  Happy Magnificent, Magickal, Manifesting, Majestic, Mesmerising, Mysterious, Memorable Monday!  How are you on this glorious day?

Grab yourself a lovely cuppa as we have lots to cover this week such as Remembrance Day and working with the powerful 11:11 energy!  Whoot!  Are you ready?

This Saturday (November 11th) is Remembrance Day, also known as Armistice Day.  It marks the day World War One ended at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month, in 1918! 105 years ago!!!

So, the other day I was in a grocery line up, with my butternut squash, daikon and halloumi (won’t that make an interesting meal), and I was wearing a Poppy for Remembrance Day – in fact this year I have bought 3 as I keep losing them or they drop off.  As I’m waiting in line for my turn the chap behind me started a rather odd debate with me about the wearing of a Poppy.   He shared that he refused to wear one as it was a symbol of death to which I totally, 100% disagree.

The Poppy to me is a symbol of Remembering those who bravely went to fight for our freedoms and well being.  It is also a symbol of Hope, hope for our troops that are still deployed all over the world and Hope for a time of Peace.   As someone who was in the Military reserves and a reserve police officer, and also having friends who were or still are in the military, let alone a father who was and a grandfather, I feel very strongly about the respect and honour that is due to those sacrifices and those that are still away from home.

Personally, I think it is important to focus on those types of events, the ones that inspire Hope and Peace, and don’t get me wrong, there are all sorts of horrendous wars being waged all over the world.  But drop back into that space of Armistice, Hope and Peace – it is sooooo possible on every level in this world (at least that is my belief).

Thus on Remembrance day we have the potent energy of 11:11.  Great Jen, what does that mean for me (you may be asking)?

This day holds the number code of 1111, which is a power number in astrology and also an angel number.

If there is something you want to manifest or a wish you want to make, this is the day to set your intentions!

1111 heightens our ability to create and to leave an imprint on the tapestry that is all of life. It also indicates that we are in complete harmony and alignment with all of nature.

From this state of alignment, it becomes easier for us to feel grounded and connected to our life here on Earth, but also to the magic and wisdom of higher realms.

Close your eyes and remember the last time that you set an intention. Did you feel doubtful that your wish would come true, or did you have faith that the universe was listening, ready to help you bring your vision to life?

11/11 is one of the most powerful days of the year for manifestation – a day when we’re reminded that our guides are always with us, supporting us on the path to our deepest dreams.

There’s a reason why we’re told to make a wish whenever we see 11:11 on the clock. 11 is a master number, and its frequency speeds up manifestation, opening up channels through which angelic beings can send their wisdom and support.

“The number 11 grants us access to the 5th dimension, where the constraints of time and space do not exist. On 11/11, we experience 5D energy in the form of synchronicity, alignment, and acceleration. You might experience that “right place, right time” feeling – the reassurance that you’re on the right path, and everything you’re seeking is seeking you in return.”

The Law of Attraction, based on the Hermetic Principles, teaches us that everything we manifest is created by thought: Where your attention goes, energy flows. Every second, you’re thinking things into existence – so on this day, pay attention to where your thoughts tend to wander.

Are you focused on bright and positive outcomes, or are you subconsciously manifesting your worries and fears?

Work with the energy of 11/11 to positively channel your thoughts in service of your highest path. I recommend meditating at 11:11 am or 11:11 pm to best harness the magic.

Set aside 11 minutes to close your eyes and go within, visualizing what you desire and how it would feel if you’d already received it.  Yes?

Another simple way to harness this energy is to free flow and write for 11 minutes about all your heart’s desires and intentions.  At the end of the 11 minutes, go back and highlight the words that inspire you, make you feel hopeful, excited and then formulate them into an intention.

If you wanted to go a step further you could make a sacred Sigil!

So gorgeous bean, take some time on Saturday to Remember.  To fill yourself with Hope and Peace and play in the 5th dimension and really visualise what you desire.  Okay?

When I asked my guides how they wanted to share with you this week I was tickled to see that they picked the wonderful Sacred Destiny Oracle, who have been rather shy about doing public readings, but this week they were 100% on board.

So in case  you have never met them, let me introduce you – and if you have met them before, let me reintroduce you (as not to do so is rude!).  “You have a sacred destiny; we all do.  There is a powerful and profound reason that you are here on the planet.  However, sometimes it may be difficult to understand what that reason is and perceive what is required on your journey into the future.  It may be a challenge to know what the next step in life should be.  This is the time to call upon the energy of nature and majesty of the natural world to provide answers to the heartfelt yearnings of your soul.  In ancient traditions, shamans, medicine women, witches, visionaries, and prophets all accessed hallowed knowledge by observing their natural environment.  These wise beings stepped through mystic gateways into inner realms to bring back meaning to the seemingly random event of life. “

Woosah!  Perfect guides for this perfect time!  (You seriously can’t make this shit up!)

Thus, I invite you to slow down for a few minutes.  Just breathe yourself back into your body and the here and now.  Let your breathing slow down, your jaw soften and a sense of Hope, Remembering and Peace fill your mind’s eye.  Gently swirling and soothing  you.  Then, when you are ready, pick the card or cards that whisper to you.

If you need a bit more support there is a wee guided visualisation for you.

Did you remember to pick?

Come have a look.

How can one little flower unite millions of people?

Jenny Heston · 12:04 pm ·

How is it that this one little flower has had such a profound impact in a myriad of countries?  I’m not referring to the rose, daisy, but the Poppy.  Actually the common Corn Poppy.  So why does this flower have such a big impact?  Every year from the last Friday of October until just after November 11th  the Poppy starts to bloom on lapels, blouses, scarves all over the world.  This is not just a Canadian thing.  The countries that wear the Poppy are UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa and the UK sends over 3 million poppies to 120 countries.

So again, why do we wear the Poppy?  Because every year this little tiny flower unites millions of people together in Remembrance and Hope.

During the First World War (1914–1918) much of the fighting took place in Western Europe. Previously beautiful countryside was blasted, bombed and fought over, again and again. The landscape swiftly turned to fields of mud: bleak and barren scenes where little or nothing could grow.  During the First World War, enormous artillery bombardments completely disrupted the landscape, infusing the chalk soils with lime. The spring of 1915 was the first time that warm weather began to warm up the countryside after the cold winter at war in 1914-1915. In the region around Ypres in Belgian Flanders the months of April and May 1915 were unusually warm. And Poppies bloomed!

Bright red Flanders poppies (Papaver rhoeas) however, were delicate but resilient flowers and grew in their thousands, flourishing even in the middle of chaos and destruction.  Covering the graves and the ugliness that had been created with blasting and bombing.   In early May 1915, shortly after losing a friend in Ypres, a Canadian doctor, Lt Col John McCrae was inspired by the sight of poppies to write a now famous poem called ‘In Flanders Fields‘.

McCrae’s poem inspired an American academic, Moina Michael she began a tireless campaign at her own expense to take up and make and sell red silk poppies which were brought to England by a French woman, Anna Guérin.  Who created the  American and French Children’s League” through which she organized French women, children and war veterans to make artificial poppies out of cloth.

On July 5th 1921, the Great War Veterans’ Association, the largest of several Canadian veterans groups, adopted the poppy as a symbol of remembrance. The Canadian Legion, formed in 1925, continued this connection. The poppy was worn on the left lapel and close to the heart to recognize the sacrifice of soldiers in times of war. They were initially made by disabled veterans and the proceeds of sales, then and now, go towards funding veterans’ needs.

…….. So where are we now?

In 2011 Canada distributed over 18 million poppies.   So let me ask again, Why wear the Poppy?

Because by wearing a poppy, you aren’t just remembering the fallen: you’re supporting a new generation of veterans and Service personnel that need our support. Past, present and future.

Here we go loves, tomorrow brings our once-in-a-bl Here we go loves, tomorrow brings our once-in-a-blue-moon moment. 🌕🩵

This Sagittarius full blue moon is bringing a cosmic green light for growth, expansion and taking the leap into the known (and unknown).

It’s here to free you from the confines of your comfort zone, illuminate the beliefs and fears that have kept you small, and call you towards the fullest and truest expansion of yourself.

You may already be feeling the restlessness building. A feeling that something needs to change. That you’ve outgrown certain parts of your life, limiting thoughts, old stories or ways of being that no longer fit the version of you you’re becoming.

This moon wants you to stop waiting for some imaginary future and begin taking steps towards the life your heart and soul truly yearn for now.

You’ll know deep down where you’re being called to go and what you’re being called to do and yes, it may feel big. But your soul wouldn’t call you into it if you weren’t ready.

This is your once-in-a-blue-moon moment to believe in yourself, stretch beyond what feels comfortable, trust your path and take the leap.

Just like the Sagittarius archer, draw back your bow, take aim for what you want and go for it.

The Taurus new moon is a powerful reminder that we The Taurus new moon is a powerful reminder that we cannot hear the guidance or receive and anchor in the new energies and frequencies coming in when we are in a state of dysregulation or high alert.

The world is getting quicker and louder, and many of us are being pulled in too many different directions by too many different demands on our time, energy and attention, leaving us feeling overwhelmed, overloaded and agitated.

This moon is asking us to consciously slow down, unplug from the noise of the outside world and take back our attention from anywhere it’s scattered. Because when our attention is scattered, our power and awareness leak, making it easier to feel lost, uncertain and disconnected from ourselves.

This moon is asking us to root deeply into ourselves, regulate our nervous systems and reconnect to our own wisdom, because only from a grounded and rooted place can we truly receive and anchor in the new frequencies and possibilities trying to come through.

How are you being called to slow down and reconnect to yourself under this moon?

We’re taught early what it means to be a “good” wo We’re taught early what it means to be a “good” woman.
.
.
Be nice and agreeable. Don’t make people uncomfortable...even if it means you are.
.
.
We learn to shrink ourselves to keep the peace. To smile when something feels off. To choose politeness over protection.
.
.
But here’s the thing… that version of “nature” we’re told to follow? It’s not reality.
.
.
Look at females in the wild. They protect their territory. They defend their young. They set boundaries without apology. They don’t soften themselves to make others comfortable. They survive because they don’t ignore their instincts....Somewhere along the way, we were taught to override ours.
.
.
Being kind is not the same as being compliant. Being compassionate does not require self-abandonment... And your discomfort is not something you owe the world.
.
.
You are allowed to take up space, say no and choose yourself.
.
.
That’s not unnatural....That’s instinct.
Bealtaine blessings! 🌸🌿🧚🏼 In the Celtic lands, the Bealtaine blessings! 🌸🌿🧚🏼 In the Celtic lands, the ancient festival of Bealtaine marks the start of the summer season.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Traditionally Bealtaine did not have a fixed date, though it has come to be celebrated by many in modern times on the first of May (and here in Ireland, this week has indeed very much felt like our first glimpse of summer).⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
At this time of year we celebrate the greening, fertility, and abundance of the natural world. The land is bursting with life all around us, renewed from the long sleep of winter.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Much like the festival of Samhain, which sits opposite from Bealtaine on the ever-turning wheel of the year, this is a liminal time when the veil between our physical realm and the spiritual Otherworld thins.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
It is said here in Ireland that the Sídhe, the fairy folk, are more likely pass through the fairy forts, ancient burial mounds, and other “thin places” at this time of year (and folks who wander near these places may likewise find themselves wandering into the Otherworld).⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Many of the rituals performed during this festival are protective in nature.⁣ Perhaps the most time-honored of these rites is the Bealtaine bonfire 🔥 ⁣If you are unable to light a large fire, candle magic is a good option as well.⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
This energy makes Bealtaine a potent time for spirit work, hedge crossing (i.e. trance journeying), and divination. ⁣Similarly, you may have noticed your dreams becoming more vivid, or you might even experience prophetic or lucid dreams. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣
In my own practice, getting out onto the land to connect with the local spirits is one of the most important aspects of this day.⁣ I gather herbs and flowers, have a picnic, sing, dance, and share offerings with the local spirits of place 🌀
