Wood Dragon

Love is in the Air, a Self Love Candle Ritual, and How to Make the Goddess Laugh!

Jenny Heston · 5:55 pm ·

Happy Merry, Magickal, Miraculous, Magnetic, Manifesting, Moony Monday!

How was your New Moon and Chinese New Year?  How does it feel to be in the year of The Wood Dragon (this is a pretty frigging amazing year if you are willing to embrace it.)

As you know, I love celebrations so of course we had a lovely Chinese New Year gathering filled with awesome food, red envelopes and games!  It was delicious.

So do you ever think “Oh fuck!”, and realise you have made the Goddess laugh her soxs off, but if you breathe into that space it’s so much better than you had planned?

I had a huge one of those on this glorious Aquarius New Moon (and don’t get me wrong I love it when I make the Goddess laugh, well actually not when it is happening, but hindsight yes!)

So as you know Lisa Wolfe and I are doing an amazing collaboration that we were going to call The Numinous Circle, yes?  The doors would open for applications and conversations on Chinese New Year and all the rest of it.

Well, then there was the Goddess laughing!  Yup.  I mean seriously frigging laughing!!!

She came roaring in and changed the name, the time frame, the structure and asked us both if we would like to pour even more into it (appreciating we had already), but wowzer – we have.

The container of The Numinous Collective is so rich, so full and I’m still reeling from it all.  Thus, if you want to be on the email list for when the doors and applications open please do!

This week a huge part of the culture will celebrate Valentine’s Day (a deliciously made up Hallmark celebration),  where apparently for one day a year we celebrate romantic love (you really don’t want to hear my thoughts on this at all lol).

I don’t know about where you live, but here all the stores (even the grocery ones) are filled to the brim with chocolates, roses, orchids and smelly cheeses!  Apparently, if you are in love these are the food groups you should eat and the objects that you should surround yourself with!  Lol.

But what if your Love Language isn’t about gifts and objects?  What if your Love Language is about acts of service, time spent together, having a fabulous hug or snuggle?  How does a box of choccies and a bunch of commercial roses fill those needs?

I will be honest, for myself I much prefer, instead of a bunch of flowers, give me some bags of dirt, some plants and then let me play!  Or better yet, clean my windows and make me a cuppa tea, or cook me a nice dinner!

Personally I find Valentine’s Day irritates me, not because I don’t believe in love, but why on earth do we need just one day where we are meant to be loving, and why is it only focused on romantic love?

What if you aren’t in a romantic relationship?  What if you’ve lost your partner?  I mean for criminies sake, why aren’t we celebrating all forms of love – family, friends, community, nature, spiritual and most importantly self love?

Because, let’s be honest – without self love and appreciation for your own gorgeous being, you don’t have anything!  (And NO self love is NOT selfish!)

Had to clear that up as one of my clients a while ago said that they felt selfish taking time for themselves and doing something nurturing.

Self-love is all about nourishing your mind, spirituality, and physical body. Try to aim at all three of these to create a more well-rounded self-care plan. Focus on activities you get excited about doing. This is all about you after all, if it doesn’t give you a little thrill, why bother?

Here’s a lovely, easy candle ritual for self love for you to do.

So what are you going to do for yourself this week, to acknowledge how special and wonderful you are?

I know what I am going to do, most certainly.

Okay, I have chuntered on enough.  When I went to the cards and asked who wanted to guide this week I was delighted to see that the Wild Kuan Yin Oracle were adamant!  (And I mean adamant).  If these guides are new to you, please let me introduce them:

Within you beats a wild and compassionate heart, alive with fierce optimism.  Your heart knows that love has the power to conquer fear.  You have the courage to walk a path of transformation.  You are not afraid to shed old skins to become more of your divine self.

You dream of living your highest destiny with fearlessness and joy.  You are one of the wild ones.  You will not be tamed by convention.  You will not be censored by the fears of others.  You are not afraid to be different.  You are not afraid to be open to life, to take risks for what you love, and most of all, to keep hope in your heart.

When the loving peace of Spirit seems too far away from the troubles of the physical world the Divine Mother will hold your hands, close to your heart, or rest gently on your forehead.  She will bring you comfort.

She’ll remind you of your fire, your boldness, your unique beauty, your passion, your courage.  She’ll guide you through even the darkest loss into the blessing of new life.

Fabulous!

Okay dear heart, just settle into yourself.  Allow your breath to find its natural rhythm.  Just breathe into all the corners of your glorious being, and allow in your mind’s eye a glorious vortex to start swirling.

As it opens, see it filled with love, all sorts of love and allow it to soothe you and to remind you that you are love incarnate.  Then when you’re ready pick the card or cards that dance around your heart.

Did you remember to pick?

Shall we go look?

BLESSING TO BEGIN

You are being given a divine “leg up”, a blessing to begin.  The Divine is going to help you launch something important – an idea, a seedling of hope, a new start.

It may feel as though something is being handed to you, as though the Divine is offering you some sacred help.  Don’t fall  into the trap of believing that because it is easy in the beginning it is not worthwhile or important.  It is!!!

Sometimes we get an infusion of divine energy into a start-up to get it going because the Divine knows how important it is and wants to give us a helping hand.

Accept the help and opportunity that so easily comes your way now, but also remember that you are being given help because there is something of great worth here.

If you are asking about being ready to start something, be that a project or even a new relationship, an expansion in your family or a new training program, this is your affirmation and validation from higher guidance.

Whatever stage you are at in the manifestation of your dreams, be it the earliest glimmer of a vision or one that you have invested decades of your life to and on which you are far along the path, the gift of the Mother is bestowed upon you – her red poppy of success.

Take a step.  You have been thinking about it.  Do it.

It may be an actual journey or a new class, a new habit or speaking the truth to others about something meaningful to you.  Or it may be an opportunity that is about to sweep in unexpectedly.

The Divine will protect and assist you and in taking a step, you open up avenues for the universe to bless you with all manner of resources and assistance.  The assurance and blessing of the Divine Mother empowers your own soul to take even the most apparently impossible or intimidating of prospects and turn them into accomplishments whilst growing in self-confidence and self-mastery.

So believe in yourself.  The Divine Mother does.

GRANDMOTHER DRAGONFLY HOLDS THE WISDOM

Sometimes there is benefit in focusing on the new, seeking out untried paths, developing untapped resources and exploring possibilities.  The intoxication of hope, inspiration and optimism combined can be hard to resist.

However, if fear, boredom or lack of commitment is beneath the quest for new adventures, if we are believing that what we need or want is always just beyond the next horizon, or that somehow the grass is greener in the next field rather than where we stand, we may be dissuaded from applying ourselves to the worthwhile tasks before us right now.

If we are an imaginative and visionary type of personality, we may rebel against the mundane tasks of applying ourselves daily to bring an idea to life.  We may become seduced by the constant thrill of coming up with new ideas, entranced with the promise of something new.

However, if we were to stop and look clearly at what we already have in our lives, we could realise that there is much of value waiting to be put to use.

The sunflower holds wisdom medicine for humanity.

Growing from seed, it sprouts tall with a firm stalk and flexible head that follows the arc of the sun across the daytime sky.  At the end of its life cycle, as the head withers and the plant faces the earth, its vibrant yellow petals collapse, turn brown, releasing its seeds.  These seeds hold the life force of the plant, distilled.

Highly nutritious and supportive of life for future plants and even for human beings, the sunflower’s seeds allow for life to continue to expand and flourish on earth.

Do not step away from what you are cultivating, even if it seems to have lost its steam, run out of energy or be utterly dead in the water!  There is something within what you have been working on that is going to yield something of great benefit.

There will be much more success, prosperity, happiness and maturing of your ultimate life goals and journey in tending to what is already further along in development than in something new.

Grandmother Dragonfly offers you vision that is wide and unlimited by preconceptions.

You may need to look differently at what you have nurtured and how to tap into what it has become to be able to share it with others and allow its sustaining grace to nourish human life in its own way. You will help people in many and varied ways.  It is all a part of your  natural development and you can trust in it.

There is no need for you to ever be impatient or doubting of this.

SHE TAMES BY LAYING DOWN THE STAFF AND ROPE

My ways prevail.  I subjugate the lower to the higher without any force.

Through my ways, correct alignment to the higher divine order is established.

My authority is supreme, yet I’ve no need to enforce it.  Devotion to me is absolute, yet I bestow freedom.  I show you now , the whispering way to tame great force.  I initiate you into the way of strength without coercion, the way of attraction without demand.

Follow me and learn the art of feminine power; that fear shall always succumb to love.

There is something that you want to attain.  A situation exists that you would like to change.

It may be something in your way of thinking or being, or a habit of your body or mind.  It may be a pattern within your emotional world, or an actual physical situation or obstacle you wish to change.

Perhaps you want it transformed completely, or perhaps you simply want some of the rough edges smoothed.

No matter whether it is a small or large change that is desired, you have been attempting to bring it about through exertion of your will.  Now there is a time and place for such approaches. The strength of the human will should never be underestimated.

Yet there is another way, a gentler and more peaceful way, that will evoke little resistance within you and help you attract what you want rather than to have to carve it out of your own blood, sweat and tears.  This is the taming power, the magnetic lure of attraction that can tame even beyond the capacity of will.

The way of gentleness takes great strength of will.  But it is will that redirects the pushing, striving mind rather than the action of willpower that seeks to mould the physical world or control the people in your life, to have them act as you wish.

It is a way that attracts the devotion of others, and draws to you the aid and support you need, yet you are not required to grasp for such generosity.

You must be willing to become empty in order to be filled.

You must be willing to accept the very thing you wish to be transformed.  You must be willing to become flexible in order to stay true on the path.  You must be willing to become childlike in order to be wise.  It is in embracing what is that empowers you to transform it.

You can, of course, choose the other way; to pursue, push and direct.  However, you will find it an uphill battle all the way and it will only get you so far.  This way holds more finesse, attains a greater result and will lead you further along your spiritual path as you learn that the opposites are only an appearance of reality, not reality itself.

You can then manifest through invitation what is offered from the heart space.  There is no control here; and yet, you will seem to command an army whilst ever your heart is pure and remains true to peace.

What you want is possible. Striving will create friction where surrender and invitation through love will create affinity with the goal.

Woosah!  Those were glorious messages for the week!  So gorgeous one, sending you big love, squeezes, warm cups of tea and a soothed soul.  May your heart be full and your spirit light!  Try out the candle ritual and remember – You are loved, you are worthy and you are amazing!

And if you want to keep up with when The Numinous Collective is available, add yourself, we would love to journey with you!

Chinese New Year – Let’s Welcome in the Wood Dragon……..and so much more!

Jenny Heston · 3:33 pm ·

Happy Miraculous, Magickal, Majestic, Mellow, Momentous, Mystical, Merry, Mischievous, Marmalade Made Manifesting Monday!

(Had to slip Marmalade in as for me marmalade on a glorious piece of fresh bread toasted – nom, nom, nom!)

Okay delicious lovely, grab a cuppa as we have lots to cover this week!

We are talking about the energy of February, which is about “Building the Foundation”.  (And if you remember January was all about creating your Vision.)  On February 9th we have the Aquarius New Moon, and the next day on the 10th we say goodbye to the Year of the Rabbit and welcome in the auspicious Year of the Wood Dragon!

Now, I don’t know about you but I am super pumped about all that is transpiring.

I have been dancing with my vision (which is rock solid clear) and putting the finishing touches to a collaborative programme with the wonderful Lisa Wolfe.  And on Chinese New Year, we will open up applications to join The Numinous Circle, an incredible 9 month container.

I’ve also finalised the Mastery and Manifestation 3 month container, as well as mapped out 12 amazing Master Classes for the year!  And last but not least there is a Sacred Site retreat coming in the Fall of this year! And changes happening in The Creatrix Circle – phew.

So can you say Hell Yes!  – as I am.

I have been dancing with Vision and Foundation to the nth degree, as I am most certainly a Dragon and I am stepping forth loud and fucking proud!

So what does Building the Foundation mean? Let’s let Lena explain that one:

“When creating a new structure, a good strong foundation is a necessary first step in the process. When we are dreaming up and envisioning the end-result, the foundation is not what we usually focus on in our vision. However, if you don’t have a solid foundation, you don’t have a solid structure.

January was focused on having a vision and making a plan. Now it is time to commit to the vision and the plan and follow through with building the foundation for your vision to manifest.

This foundation is not a literal one but rather an energetic one that includes your body, mind and spirit, as well as parts of your physical environment that support who you are.”

This monthly energy theme, ties into the Aquarius New Moon energy.

This Aquarius New Moon invites you to look at your feelings of security and what makes you feel secure and safe so you can really thrive in this world.

If we look at where these feelings of security and comfort are in our own bodies, we can begin to see a link between how small or large our life is.

The more confident, secure, and safe we feel, the more likely we are to expand our wings, take chances, and live more fully. The less confident, secure, or safe we feel, the more likely we will play it small.

So lots of stuff, especially around freedom or lack of, sense of tribe and community or lack of, and feeling of hope, prosperity and expansion, or lack of may come up.

Thus, harness both the monthly energy and the moon energy (yet alone the Dragon energy, which we will get to in a moment), to make some changes.

Changes that stick and allow you to tap into your inner warrior, learn, study, grow – whatever you need to.

Now for my most favourite piece – The Year of the Wood Dragon.

Interestingly enough in my family, all the females for 8 generations are Dragons.  None of the males.

Think about it, Dragon only happens once every twelve years and somewhere amidst that calculation the women chose to embody that energy!  Muhahaha.

So what does the Wood Dragon year bring to you?

Dragon is the only animal in the Chinese zodiac that is not of the mundane earthly world. It has the highest vision and broadest reach – they soar the highest and furthest. It’s a year to look beyond the confines and to dream big, to envision the future we want. Getting clarity on our purpose or mission is essential.

Dragon years are considered very auspicious. Symbolizing power, inner strength and courage, this is a year to actively step into our power and nobility and allow our gifts, talents and true medicine to shine out.

Authenticity is key and is of the highest vibration. We are asked to believe in ourselves, to remember who we are, to find our own authentic story and not anyone else’s.

The exalted Dragon insists on raising the standards, set your goals high for it’s time to really step up.

“Wood energy allows us to grow, expand, and keep our vision on track for the long term. The Season of Spring is connected to the element of Wood, so this year of the Dragon will help us to create new beginnings, plant new seeds, and allow our garden to flourish.

The energy is ripe for new beginnings and undergoing new ventures, but we have to create stability and work from the heart.

Green is connected to the element of wood and the heart-chakra, so in the year of the Dragon, we are going to be constantly reminded to come back to the heart, and to open ourselves to receiving.”

Oh my giddy aunt.  Do you see how all these delicious energies this month fold together?  And how they all weave with the 8 energy of this year?  (For those of  you who chose an Opening the Door reading you will really know what I’m talking about!)

So there we have it honey.  I hope you brought a cuppa and did take time to read, as this is the time to finally make the changes you have talked about sweets.

Enough chuntering, let’s crack on with the reading.

These are glorious new guides who insisted on coming to play, which was most interesting as they have been with me for 6 months.

Thus, let me introduce you – These are the wardens to help you deepen into your self-awareness, especially in relation to nature.  These are the stewards and the guardians.  They are here to guide you, protect  you as much as you are called to do the same for them.  Allow the natural world to weave into your day to day, open your eyes to what surrounds you and open your heart to receiving.

So my darling one, take a moment to just breathe.  Just let the energy of Foundation, Clarity and Expansiveness fill your body and your mind.  Allow your inner light and spark to rise up to meet it and meld with it.  See you Vision, allow it to wrap around you like a glorious blanket and make you smile.

Then when you are ready pick the card or cards that resonate for you.

Did you remember to pick?

Ready to meet your new guides?

THE BOAR AND THE PUMPKIN

Confidence

With their winding vines and large, heavily seeded fruit pumpkins signify abundance, health, and resilience.

But think of the pumpkin – each one is full of seeds, all carrying the seed of potential and creation.

Meanwhile, the fierce and intelligent boar is known for its sharp tusks and aggressive movements.

The boar invites you to step into the place  of Strength and Power,

Boars are associated with strength, power, and resilience. Their robust and fearless nature symbolise the ability to overcome challenges and obstacles.

So what happens when we combine pumpkin with boar?

It’s time to claim your confidence.  Embrace who you are and what you know and allow any insults of attempts to damage your morale to roll off your back.

You are thick skinned like a pumpkin and courageous like a boar.

Ask yourself:

What accomplishments am I proud of?

How can I improve my confidence and sense of worth?

THE DEER AND THE OAT

Healing

The shy and gentle fallow deer is known for its white spots and the broad, velvety antlers it sheds and regrows each year.

Deer bring in the energy of gentleness, innocence, and a peaceful nature.  Deer also invite  you into vigilance.

Not OCD vigilance, but the attention that needs to be paid to the boundaries around you and what you are allowing in.  Thus, encouraging you to stay attuned to your surroundings and inner self.

Similarly, oats are symbols of restorative nutrition.

Even in poor soil, oats can flourish, providing hearty sustenance.

You are being invited to rest and recharge.

Moderation and mindfulness are key as you recover from any trauma or a period of intense exertion.

Ask yourself:

How do I rest and recharge?

What practices nourish my soul?

THE PORCUPINE AND ANEMONE

Boundaries

The porcupine, with its impressive quills, is a well-known symbol of self-defense

According to a legend common among the Anishinaabe tribes, the porcupine got its quills by placing the branches of a hawthorn tree on its back, defending itself against the bear.

Nanabozho – the trickster spirit in Ojibwe myth – saw the porcupine’s cleverness and fashioned it a coat of quills to wear from then on.

Just as the porcupine curls into a ball to defend itself from predators, the anemone flower turns inward and down during rainstorms, protecting its delicate petals from damage.

You can’t help others unless you first help yourself.

Maintain healthy boundaries around your time and energy, giving generously only once you are sufficiently fed.

Ask yourself:

How can I ensure my needs are met?

Have I established healthy boundaries around my time and energy?

Do I respect the boundaries of others?

Wowzers!  Oh my gosh, I love these guides and they tie in so well!  Which one did you pick, or did you go for all?  Sending you big hugs gorgeous one, please, please step all the way into these energies and come dance with me in the field of infinite possibilities.  Your being, your light, your heart is needed!

Year of The Wood Dragon!

Jenny Heston · 2:22 pm ·

February 10, 2024 begins the year of Yang Wood Dragon, a majestic and formidable dragon indeed. It coincides with the New Moon in Aquarius on February 9th.

Get ready for big changes and a huge energy shift arriving with the Dragon! We are still in the Yin Rabbit, a more reserved year of recovery and self reflection, and a much smaller sphere of energy and influence than what’s coming. Because we are moving from one of the smallest to by far the largest energy, it’s important to do inner-work and clear old energies on all levels to prepare for this big expansion. Whatever is ready to be released stuck patterns, old relationships, anything that is not in present time and in alignment with your future. We have one more month to do it so take the time and break any cycles that need liberating.

Dragons are bold, proud and fearless. Prepare for a high energy action year with motivation to get things done. Dragons are allergic to whiners and procrastinators. Just don’t do it. Give it up if you are living in the past and waiting for unrealistic miracles. Only action and productivity matter for the Dragon. With fortitude and resilience to face challenges and a propensity for risk taking, the ambitious and driven Dragon encourages us to step out of our comfort zones. As determined competitive as Dragons can be, they are also known for their generosity and loyalty. Strong, self confident and commanding, dragons are natural born leaders and can produce the stuff empires are built on. Strive to embody and embolden these qualities in ourselves! We may see the kind of charismatic and visionary leadership that inspires others. With a rise in collective determination and innovative approaches to solve global issues, and more shared solutions. Because of the access to so much creativity, we may see a boom in arts and culture, especially film and music, and more passion for travel and parties. Fun needs to be had and the power of play is not to be underestimated!

These qualities can also manifest in unsavory ways. The uglier face of the Wood Dragon can be egotistical, dogmatic, demanding, domineering and utterly selfish. Throw in a dose of aggression and intolerance along with refusing to accept defeat, makes the world stage a continuing shit show. This dynamic and growth-full year will also be fraught with conflict, aggressiveness and challenges. This could very well be a bumpy year. Be vigilant about these personality traits in yourself and others.

Enter an overabundance of Yang. The Dragon is Yang, Wood is Yang. There is also Yang Wood/Thunder trigram at the center which is the ruler of the bagua chart. The Thunder Trigram is the initial jolt of energy that instigates change and transformation. One side of the coin brings lots of action and productivity, the other side – aggression, conflict, and general bad behavior.

ELEMENTS of Wood Dragon: EARTH is the home element or earthly branch of the Dragon. It speaks to the power of intention behind the knowing that is in our heart, and a commitment to manifesting and standing by our dreams and behind our words thru action, where we stand and what we stand behind. Integrity and devotion move us to bring forth our gifts and how we imprint our unique signature into the world. Applying our spirit to the world of forms we can bring our dreams to fruition.

WOOD is the heavenly stem defining the Dragon this year. It’s about creativity, wisdom, vitality, vision, growth, learning, organization, inventiveness, cooperation, moving forward, having clear direction, taking a course of action, and deciding on priorities. It stands for authenticity, being the author of your own life. Wood element gives structure to the vision. Dragon combined with vitality and growth of Wood element creates a dynamic force of innovation and adaptability.

The start of the Dragon year coincides with Pluto entering Aquarius on January 20 which initiates dramatic cosmic forces coming in, signaling brilliant innovations and transformations of all kinds. The potential for higher centered openings is big, make room for magic. This year could be the genesis of a breakthrough for us as a species.

Tips for Navigating the Year:

  • Dynamic year with lots of change – stay grounded, adaptable and resilient.
  • Manage high expectations and being overly ambitious; overcome impulsiveness.
  • Take extra care of your gut! intestines, spleen, stomach, liver.
  • Indulge in the spirit of play! Play is the path forward.
  • Let go of scarcity. Let go of emotional trauma.
  • Be your own best resource, learn to self source.
  • Maintain the courage to face the unknown.
  • Express and explore your creativity big time.
  • Live your biggest vision, realize that you are much more than your identities.
  • Prioritize and avoid over committing to prevent burnout.
  • Paint your own reality. Be authentic!
  • Stay with your helpful spiritual and physical practices.
  • Develop strength – physically, emotionally and mentally.
  • Apply what you know, don’t just talk about it.
  • Have courage to face challenges and to step out of your comfort zone.
  • Show up. Do what you feel called to do.
  • Ignite your true potential, what you are most capable of.
  • Get inspiration from others that triumphed in life, books, or movies. Follow in the footsteps of dragons.
  • Embrace your magnificence. Be the best version of you!

The collective creativity of humanity is striving for that authentic version of ourselves. To help with our journey into self authenticity, I love this simple practice by Zach Bush:

Lay down beneath a tree, looking up through the branches to the light. The light refraction patterns through that system is enough to reprogram your original neurology. If you stare long enough up to the sky through that matrix it helps align with the patterns that are you. The patterns that are seen by nature. Allow yourself to be seen by that tree. It’s powerful and transformative to be seen by nature. So simple.

I urge you to take advantage of the big vision energies this year. Always our choice of course as to how we handle this year, there will be challenges and pitfalls along with the possibilities of transformational shifts and spiritual leaps.

May the global awakening begin!

Blessings for a most wonderful year,
