DNA, Ancestors, Love is in the Air and Random Acts of Kindness!

Happy Most, ‘Mazing, Marvelous, Magnificent, Magickal, Mellow, Majestic, Manifesting, Monday! (yes, ‘mazing is now a word!)

My pansies have perished and my snowdrops have shrivelled! The other week I mentioned that it was colder than normal here, but Holy Mary Mother of God! We got snow (yes, real snow which apparently they don’t really get hear, thus they aren’t used to it) and it was fascinating to watch what happened. People wouldn’t leave their houses, hardly anyone had a snow shovel and drivers kept driving as if it wasn’t snowy (positively terrifying to watch!) Then after the snow, in blew Arctic Winds up to 60-90km (have to say I love the sound of the wind howling around outside and down the chimney) and everything turned to ice! Ah well, thankfully my truck has snow tires and snow doesn’t bother me, it’s just the people who have no clue what to do that cause me a tad of consternation.

Over the last week I have had to remind myself we are still in Winter, even though inside my body is a wiggly-ness towards Spring! Which is no surprise at all, with Imbolc having happened (an invitation to plant the seeds), New Moon (another invitation to plant seeds), Chinese New Year, Eclipse energy (remember it perks for about 6 months) and Activation – need I say more?. So there’s this weird discombobulation between the external (snow and ice outside, still Winter) and the internal (wanting to rush forth, create, blossom and find the light again!)

This got me to thinking, Winter is the element of Earth, it’s the dirt, the bones, the stones, the ancestors. It’s the season where we pull inward, nourish ourselves and find the internal stories. So the other day as I was walking with a friend, we started talking about ancestry, heritage, lineage and DNA tests. Did you know that the whole DNA and Ancestry industry is booming? Which is good but not so good at the same time. Research has shown that various companies that demand a high fee for this DNA/Ancestor report don’t have the data to support what they provide you with. There was a great report done by two identical twin reporters who submitted their DNA to 2 organisations and both places came back with these women weren’t related at all and the data they provided for each was so random. So why are people opting for these tests at a huge rate and at considerable expense? Good question! So I went and did some digging and talked to various organisations etc and it turns out that with our society being rather fragmented and disconnected, there is a lot of social isolation and a massive sense of disconnect. So people are looking, searching and desperate to find out where they came from and what that means. It’s a way of giving oneself a sense of belonging and connection. Because if you think about it as a culture on the whole, we have lost the oral tradition where stories were passed down through the generations and memories were shared. I count myself as very fortunate as I can go back at least 10 generations in my family of origin. A huge part of that was due to my Great Aunts sharing stories and memories, and also due to various other relatives doing a lot of digging and then sharing the information.

The other night when the snow was flooding down and the winds were whipping it each and every way I stood and watched the snowflakes dance from side to side in the lamp light outside. As I watched, rather mesmerised a verse from one of the songs that I need to learn for the Acapella group that I just joined flooded to mind:-

Listen more often to things than to beings,

‘Tis the ancestors’ breath when the fire’s voice is heard,

‘Tis the ancestors’ breath in the voice of the water.

Those who have died have never never left

The dead are not under the earth.

This song comes from Birago Diop’s poem “Breaths” where we are reminded of the continuum of the invisible world of spirit, man, and the visible world of nature existing along a continuum and forming an organic reality. Personally, I find that rather comforting to know I’m not alone, I’m part of the whole.

So as I was lying in bed last night I invited in my ancestors, all of the ones that I know of and those before them and asked them to come into my dream space. It was very cool! I felt sooo loved, held, supported and guided. Connected.

Well if that was a tad heavy for you (as I know it can be triggering for some) to explore the past. Let’s look at Love is in the Air, yes, this week we have Valentine’s Day! Now, I want you to keep in mind that originally Valentine’s Day had nothing to do with romantic love (seriously). But thanks to Geoffrey Chaucer in the 14th century when the tradition of courtly love flourished, it started turning that way. In 18th-century England, it evolved into an occasion in which lovers expressed their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending handmade greeting cards (known as “valentines”). There is also the tale of Saint Valentine of Rome who was imprisoned for marrying soldiers, who were forbidden to marry, and ministering to Christians who were persecuted under the Roman Empire. According to legend, during his imprisonment Saint Valentine restored sight to the blind daughter of his judge, and before his execution he wrote her a letter signed “Your Valentine” as a farewell.

Even though this holiday is associated with “romantic love” I invite you to practice some self love. Do something delicious and delightful for yourself, no matter how small. Take yourself on a lunch date, have a glorious bubble bath, buy a bunch of flowers for yourself, pack yourself a heart shaped sandwich. A little something to remind yourself that you are loved, and that you love you. Yes? Every Valentines I get those brown paper lunch bags, decorate the heck out of them, fill them with sweeties, daft riddles and jokes, funky pencils and all sorts of random stuff and each of the kids gets one. Our food is normally heart shaped as well! (Trust me a heart shaped burger is a beauty to behold) and we normally have a heart shaped Pavlova covered in cream, fresh berries and grated chocolate. So whether it is romantic love, familial love, pet love or friend love that you are celebrating this year. Please remember to start with you first, okay, connect with you! Because in case you need a reminder, you are deliciously, delightful and so very, very loved!

So with the image of your glorious ancestors and love now in your mind, let’s look at the fact it’s Random Acts of Kindness Week! (I love, love, love RAOK!) So this is a beautiful invitation to get out of your head and into your heart and do something random for someone else and no, you don’t even have to know them. I have left little love notes in random post boxes, paid for coffee for someone who is going to come in and needs one, driven little old ladies and their groceries home – you name it. Think of a couple of things that you can do that won’t stress you out and do them. As in the Witches world, everything comes back thrice fold. So what do you feel you could do? It could be uber simple as in lifting your head up when walking and smiling at everyone, telling someone they look awesome, touching a random strangers arm as you talk. Get creative and just play with it, remember it’s not meant to be a chore, more like paying it forward, sharing and CONNECTING!

Okay, now I have waffled on for what may seem like forever, let’s get on with the reading! (I’ve been perking a different way of sharing all the glorious events, celebrations, seasons etc with you that is separate, but more on that later). When I went to the cards and asked who wanted to guide this week I nearly snorted tea out of my nose when “The Earth Warriors Oracle” were more than adamant to be front and centre. This has been a shy and rather reticent deck when it comes to public readings, so this is very cool. If this deck is new to you, please let me introduce them to you. “There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold on to the shore. They will feel they are torn apart and will suffer greatly. Know the river has its destination. The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above water. And I say, see who is in there with you and celebrate. At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally, least of all ourselves. For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt. The time for the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves! Banish the word “struggle” from your attitude and your vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.”

Seriously, I can’t make this stuff up even if I tried. Wow.

The crystals that wiggled and jiggled were very interesting. Dallasite – which is effectively a personal brainstorming stone, representing purity of heart, gentleness of spirit, kindness without ulterior motive. Smoky Quartz – this is an amazing stone for grounding, leaving behind baggage and surrendering. Last but not least, an Orthoceras – which is a fossil (do you see the little fish in it), assist you in moving from the old to the new and to be receptive to the fresh, innovative forces that are available to you. Fossils can assist you in your quest for transition, transformation and personal growth, helping you to understand the process of change.

I have to say I was tickled to see Dallasite pop up as apparently when I walk the beach each morning and pick up a stone for me and one for my sister, I have picked up 10 raw Dallasites for her!

Okay, let’s settle and ground shall we? I have created a visualisation to help with this, but if that’s not your gig, all good. I invite you to put both feet on the floor, earth, snow and if you are able stand up tall. Really allow your spine to stretch up to the heavens, whilst your feet stay anchored to earth and just Breathe. Breathe in through your nose and sigh it out through your mouth. Allow anything to drop to the earth and allow your ancestors to come whisper to you, stories of love, kindness and connection. Then when you are ready, pick the card or cards that are yours.

Solstice, Advent, Hope and Big Balls!

Here we are delicious lovely, the second Monday of December! So let me please wish you a Marvelous, Manifesting, Magnificent, Magickal, Miraculous, Mellow, Magnanimous Monday! How was New Moon for you?

There is so much to talk about, private readings, upcoming Solstice, Hope, and Word of the Year! Quite a few of you have contacted me with regards to putting 2018 to bed and setting up 2019 with clarity with a private reading. Thus, I have opened up 10 spots, which will be the only ones available until January, and am offering a Solstice special, 10% of the readings will be donated to the homeless shelter here. The other day I noticed a sign as I was driving back into town that was counting the days down to Xmas – it read something like “Only 14 more shopping days until Xmas.” WTF! Really? That’s what Xmas is about, shopping? (Don’t get me wrong if you are a retailer this is one of your biggest seasons) but there was a huge Hmmm. That sign didn’t work for me and I was a tad grumpy that there was no sign that said “Only 11 days left to Solstice and then the days start getting longer!” ( Next week we will really explore Solstice and some easy, powerful ways to mark that most amazing time of year.)

Ah well, we each do it our own way, but I have noticed people getting more tense, shorter fused, and most certainly not smiling as much or driving nearly as well, and that to me is not celebration, that feels like obligation. This is a time of connection, this is a time of celebration and creating memories (as is every day in my world). A time of Hope, Love, Peace & Joy. I don’t see much of that in the overflowing mall parking lots and the hard sell places.

Thus, I decided to explore different venues, so this last week I went and checked out the most amazing Gingerbread house display which is a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity (and if my kids ever ask me again to create a gingerbread house with them the pressure would be on! ) The houses were quite stupendous and very ornate. It made my heart warm to find out that various people had spent hours upon hours creating these masterpieces all to help Habitat for Humanity raise funds! To me that is most certainly the seasonal spirit in action.

The other day I took a wander through the various neighbourhoods nearby and it fascinated me that here people hang large Xmas ornaments and sparkly balls in the trees outside. It’s really quite cool and very pretty. So I trundled off and found some funky balls at the thrift store, bedecked them with gorgeous white ribbon and hung them on the branches of the cherry tree outside. As I was standing there thinking how lovely they looked I glanced down the street to see that some chap had put HUGE multi coloured Xmas balls in his tree! I have to say I experienced massive ball envy and the song that immediately came to mind was ACDC’s Big Balls. Lol. (I wonder if he would notice if they migrated from his tree to mine in the middle of the night?)

Yesterday I lit the second candle in my lovely homemade Advent wreath – this is the candle of Hope and Love (it’s also the celebration of the light of plants – plants that reach up to the sun and in the breezes dance). Now the word “Hope” has never been one of my favourite words as I find it is used far too much i.e. – I hope the kids do their chores, I hope I win the lottery, I hope the cat doesn’t cough a hairball on the clean laundry………. So the word Hope always felt a bit banal to me, thus, I went exploring and reading and have to say I really like this definition, it is one I can get behind:-

“Hope is a feeling of trust, a security, and a reason to keep going. It is a passionate desire of our heart. It is a feeling of expectation and a longing for a certain thing to happen.” – Verity Russell

What do you Hope for?

One of the things I love about the energy of Solstice is the inward turning, the entering into the dark to bring your own light back out into the world. To me it feels like a very rejuvenating, restorative time. It’s also about this time that I start thinking about my Word of the Year for 2019. Now if you’ve never explored or worked with WOTY I highly recommend it, and as we get closer to New Years I will share an easy way to pick it. Basically your WOTY is the one word that you pick which becomes the touchstone, the North Star for every aspect of your life in 2019. It really helps you get clear on how you want to BE and how you want to FEEL during the year in all your experiences. For 2018 my word was DELIGHT, I’m still perking what my word for 2019 will be, there’s no rush so I’m just going to let it burble as the days get shorter and shorter. Speaking of shorter, I noticed yesterday that we are down to 8 hours and 23 minutes of light and the rest is that warm dark that invites us to reflect and plan.

Okay, I’ve chuntered on long enough, lol. Let’s crack on with the reading! When I asked the cards who wanted to guide this week it was no surprise to me that The Faery Forest Oracle came bounding to the forefront as yesterday I went wandering in the woods gathering cedar boughs to make garlands to bedeck the house with. Now, if you’ve never experienced this deck before, the dedication for this deck is as follows:- “May the wild green world and the wondrous beings of this Faery Forest heal us, inspire us and urge us all to become more who we truly are meant to be.“ The glorious little peacock feathers that I found last week were most insistent to show off their iridescent colours and the crystals that came to join are:- Bloodstone, Sodalite and Chrysocolla.

So delicious lovely I invite you to gift yourself a moment to get centred and become present. Gently slow your breathing down and let the word Hope vibrate through you as you breathe (there is a lovely little guided visualisation if you would like a bit more support). THE WILD HUNT

There is, for all of us, a moment when excitement and nerves fuse, when we prepare to journey and do something we have anticipated for a long time. In the faery realm, this sensation is created by adventure known as the Wild Hunt. This is a gathering which takes place not only within the realm of faery, it is one where the faery king and queen lead faery hounds and faery horses on a hunt throughout the countryside, dipping into and out of the faery lands, surfacing in the human worlds from time to time, cleansing toxic energy, allowing natural forces to begin to flow through the cleared energy paths, awakening the wild world to brightest life once again, and leaving a trail of ecstasy and bliss after the frenzied storm of their ride.

The Wild Hunt is fierce, powerful, a little frightening, and thoroughly thrilling – and this faery queen is preparing herself for the joys and challenges of this great springtime event. So too you need to prepare yourself for some chaos – a wild time, when change tears through and upends all the order you have attached yourself to. You may need to pack, travel, find ways to move quickly, stop planning and organising for a moment and just go on an immensely enjoyable ride of your life.

The time coming for you is delirious in its excitement, and you fear this loss of control and order. But truly, it will refresh you, just as it sears the very edges of your nerves! Dress up, show up, and prepare to be amazed! Take a deep breath, find your voice, and begin to cry out at the top of your lungs. You are alive my friend, and will feel so more than ever before when the wild hunt touches your life!

THE GREEN WITCH

When you are pure of heart, the whole world is full of potential. And this is the message from this innocent Green Witch to you. She is green as in the fresh new shoot from the seed pushing urgently towards the sun. She is green and connected to the earth, flowing with the cycles of Nature. She is green in that she looks as much to the natural world for company, friendship, and fulfillment as you currently do to fellow humans.

She is your reminder to begin to reconnect to the wild green world, to the faery forests all about you – to go back to a place where you empty yourself of expectations and stories and knowledge and just admit that in some circumstances and at some times, you are as a babe. You are newborn, and in that moment of unknowing-ness, and of admitting and embracing your own powers of renewal, you can finally learn what it is you are here to learn.

Be not so certain, or so experienced when The Green Witch comes to you. Be new. Be fresh. Be unwise, be unknowing. Be innocent. And then the new cycle can truly begin.

THE HEDGEWITCH

Ritual, Mercury Retrograde, Full Moon in Gemini and Thanksgiving! – Phew!

Hello delicious lovely, happy Magnificent, Marvelous, Magical, Mighty, Manifesting, Majestic, Mindful, Mesmerising Monday! (Have to love the letter M lol). Did you know that in Egyptian writing, its ideogram is derived from the character for water, which explains why it’s so gracefully written. In terms of Roman numerals, it represents the number 1000? I really quite like the idea of the Egyptian ideogram and the letter “M”.

I don’t know about you but for me this last week has been an interesting weave of ups and downs and really having to manage my energy carefully as there has been someone around me who is sooooo self absorbed, rude, narcissistic and an energy vampire – it’s been most interesting to watch and very peculiar to experience. But later in the week, with the holiday season starting to roll in, we will talk about energy management and how to keep yours and mine clear, clean and strong.

The other week a few people talked to me about ritual and what I found interesting was their thought that it was highly complex, time consuming and that you needed multiple “special” tools for it. Hmmmm, I don’t agree with that. Sure you can make it that way if you would like, and there are certainly times that you really want to make it super duper special, but for the day to day it doesn’t have to be that way. So let me share with you how I view and interpret the word “Ritual” and what it means to me.

To me a Ritual is intention made manifest, it’s that place of connection with the Divine, Universe, God/Goddess or however you chose to name it. In other words, a ritual takes an idea, thought or emotion and gives it a physical form in the world. So for example when I invite or suggest that perhaps at certain times there are things that you might want to write down, release and burn – guess what? That’s a ritual. When you sit down at New Moon and write your wishes/intentions out, guess what? That’s a ritual. All it took was a brief moment of time, paper, pen and something to light either a candle or the paper with.

To me ritual allows your body, your cells, you essence to understand your intention. Does that make sense? So what makes a mundane activity into a ritual is your consciousness while doing it. If you are smudging yourself or home, what is your intention? If you are having a salt water scrub shower or bath, what is your intention? When you light a candle every day when you walk in the door, what is your intention? Remember energy follows intention and attention follows energy and actions follow attention. Thus, a ritual can be a celebration such as the upcoming Thanksgiving in the States or it can be a practice which can be repeated daily, monthly or yearly. When ritual becomes a practice this allows us to go deeper, to explore all the various nuances and of course as we all know – repetition leads to mastery (think of that daily meditation, exercise, journaling etc).

Here is an example; since being guided, led and pushed by the Universe to head off on an adventure and move to somewhere that I didn’t know, leave my home, dogs, kids etc and then having the landing being so incredibly bumpy with all sorts of drama llamas playing out. I felt rootless. That is not a feeling that I enjoy, nor one that makes me feel safe, secure and at ease. Thus, when I found my little nest in a gorgeous locale I set the intention of community, connection and roots. Great intention right? However, I took that intention and turned it into ritual and then into a daily practice and made a commitment that I would “do” this practice for 40 days. Thus, every morning I would bound out of bed, rain, wind or shine and I would do a loop into the massive park nearby, down onto the beach and walk by the ocean and when a rock called to me I would park my arse on a wet driftwood log and offer up my prayers, my blessings and whatever else needed to come up. Then I would pop the rock into my pocket, loop back home and drop the rock in a bowl and say thank you. Now doing this has introduced me to a plethora of people that live nearby, I have been invited for tea, had great conversations and have helped two of them with lifting heavy items! Talk about community. Now keep in mind I committed to 40 days and there was no way I was going to miss one as if I did, I had to start again. Well, I didn’t miss a day, nor did I give up at the end of 40 as this glorious daily ritual feeds my soul, my body and my mind. I now have 49 rocks in my bowl. I guess what I am saying is ritual is easy. Set the intention, let the energy follow it, then the attention, but the key piece is action!

Now let’s talk about Mercury retrograde shall we? (No, don’t go running to the closet to try and hide!) Mercury went retrograde on November 16th and this is the last and final Mercury retrograde for 2018 (thank goodness!) Now as the retrograde happened in Sagittarius there is a lot of heat and fire to this baby. In other words with all this hot headed energy flying around, choose your words carefully. Sagittarius loves to turn up the volume and can be very blunt and loud mouthed, thus with the retrograde happening it can make everyone doubly tactless. So remember to watch your words carefully and try not to go dashing down the hot headed rabbit hole that may be sending sparks off all around you – especially if you are celebrating Thanksgiving!

To all my American friends, Thanksgiving is coming up this week and I hope you take time to just BE, Play, be Thankful and Feel. For some people family holiday celebrations can trigger all sorts of stuff, some great and some rather challenging. So remember to take the energy of the Full Moon that happens at the same time and just get clear about how you want to feel and what is okay for you. Energy Management! Okay, I do have to ask what’s with the Black Friday Sale thing? I appreciate a good deal, but I went once to a store in the states on Black Friday and it was insane! People were pushing, shoving, being rude all for $100 off of an item they wanted. Totally terrified me and have never gone to a Black Friday sale in person again. With that being said I do wish you all a marvelous Thanksgiving filled with family, gorgeous food, connection, joy and big laughter and remember Gratitude!

The Full Moon is on Thursday November 22nd and this full moon is in Gemini and called The Beaver Moon. Now what is the energy of this wonderful moon? “The full moon in Gemini delivers the goods in terms of versatility. That’s because this lunation is ruled by none other than Mercury—the messenger of the gods himself. This full Moon is all about action and change. Will you choose remaining stagnant in the cycles of your past or will you be consciously moving forward by enriching your spiritual blessings? As we move in step with the coming end of our calendar year, we choose enrichment of spiritual blessings or remain stagnant in our past.

Suddenly life is moving at an accelerated rate and be prepared to keep up with it during this full Moon until the next full Moon in December. Be flexible and not so rigid with your thoughts or actions. This full Moon is about leaving behind the noose of old habits, patterns and broken dreams.

Here is an appropriate quotation from President John Kennedy who passed 55 years ago November 22. “For time and the world do not stand still. Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or the present are certain to miss the future.” Think on this quotation.

What has been cannot be changed and it is time to let it go, while we lean forward to embrace all that lies ahead.

The lesson, energy and influences of this full Moon helps us to create a new legacy and to finally free ourselves from all obstacles, barriers and blocks that prevent our individual prophecy and birthright.”

Well that is certainly an interesting Full Moon to accompany Thanksgiving don’t you think?

The cards that wiggled and giggled to come support this week are The Divine Circus Oracle, which made me laugh and nearly snort tea out of my nose! Of course they would come, especially as we may be rubbing up against people that we love but sometimes find quite challenging to be around. Now, if you have never worked with this deck before let me give you a brief introduction – “This deck is for those who find it hard to follow rules, conform, bend to authority and generally ‘do what they are told.’ May your rebel heart always be bold. May your spirit always be free. My you remember to live the Divine Circus and have fun doing things the way you aren’t supposed to, whilst living your most creative and unique divine destiny.” The crystals that came to play are the ones from the beach, the gorgeous rocks that I pick up every morning and bring home to their beautiful bowl. And of course some delightful rose petals and Selenite to amplify.

Thus, I invite you to take a pause and a moment for yourself. Just BE and as you breathe in a lovely deep breath resonant with giving Thanks/Gratitude and as you breathe out through your open mouth release the past, the old, the worry and tension. Breathe like that for a few lovely, luscious breaths and when you are ready ask for the guidance that you need this week and then pick the card or cards that resonate for you.

Just as nature imbues the butterfly with an innate ability for radical transformation, so too do you have natural instincts within, guiding you to grow in dramatic, utterly life-changing ways. DATE WITH DESTINY

Out of the ethers and into your life, she arrives now because you have a date with Destiny. She is a mysterious creature; her ways are wild and her guidance is true. She may create chaos from which a new order can emerge, but there is no need to fear. She has come to inspire, uplift and direct you.

A date with Destiny is a big deal. It is the moment when you realise there is something helping you out, something intelligent, powerful, wise and, no matter how empowered you are, something even more powerful than your own efforts. All bets are off! Nothing is held sacred and anything can happen. If you are a control freak, this will probably scare you witless! You need to trust Destiny’s interventions on your behalf, even if her work seems to be causing your best intentions to go astray. Trust or go mad because you cannot control her. And you do not need to! Your divine destiny is your best life. It is you in the fullest and most beautiful creative expression possible. It is what you want and need, even when you don’t immediately realise it, even when that is rather different to what you once thought you wanted and needed.

The Universe has heard the prayers in your heart, and life is going to answer them by rearranging what needs to be rearranged to sort out whatever has been troubling you. Make sure you let it happen. The more you allow yourself to trust in her, the more you will realise that the universe is working with you, rather than against you, and if you are willing, it will show you the time of your life!

DIVINE DISGUISE

Some blessings are obvious – the door that opens, the person who says yes and the instant success of an idea. But not all blessings are instantly recognisable. Some blessings are so veiled that at first you might consider them to be an unwanted development. A concealed blessing is either already at work in your life or on its way. Don’t worry if you feel like things aren’t working out as they should. Soon enough, the disguise will be dropped, and the blessed unmasked in all its beauty.

Blessings are the mysterious workings of the universe, there to help us along our unique life path to live our truths and fulfil our potential. The universe has the knack of knowing just what it is we need, even when sometimes we might think we need something altogether different. This is how it can be that something we resist and reject in our lives can become the very thing we’re most grateful for later on. We realise it had been a blessing masked, something actually helping us, even though it might have come in the form of a challenge or a struggle before we eventually gain great benefit from it.

The real beauty of a situation isn’t obvious to you yet. But trust and have peace of mind and a realisation that the universe does really know what it’s doing. It’s in your corner, on your side, cheering you on and helping you avoid unnecessary pitfalls, even if you don’t know they exist. There is no need to worry, even that which appears to be most troublesome is going to reveal itself to be working in your favour!

Well delicious lovely, wishing you a stupendous week and I have an invitation for you. Think of the things that you do that nourish you, whether it is playing music, lighting a candle, going for a walk under the trees and give it the energy of a ritual. In other words, set an intention, let the energy follow it make it a conscious action. Also, no matter if you are in the States and celebrating Thanksgiving or live somewhere else, play with the energy of this wonderful Full Moon and give thanks and bless everything that is in your life. In my morning practice I always say “ I bless everything I have and I bless my increasing good and good fortune” and then I start listing them. So I might say “I bless my bed and the cosiness of it and I bless my increasing good and good fortune, I bless the sun filtering through the autumn leaves and I bless my increasing good and good fortune.” Yes? Give it a try and really think of everyone and everything that could do with a blessing. At the full moon take some time to write down the things, or aspects, that you are ready to release, then burn the list and allow it to become compost. Play with it and see how you feel. Did you Remember to Remember?

Hello delicious lovely!! Happy Magnificent, Magickal, Manifesting, Majestic, Mesmerising, Mysterious, Memorable Monday! How are you on this glorious day?

Did you know that yesterday was the 100th Anniversary of Armistice Day? (Which happened at the 11th hour on the 11th day in the 11th month in an 11 year!) Think about that. On Nov. 11, 1918, fighting in World War I came to an end following the signing of an armistice between the Allies and Germany that called for a ceasefire effective at 11 a.m.– it was on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. Yesterday marked the 100 years ago of the end of the First World War. Again, think about it. At that moment in time there was Peace and Hope of something different.

Personally, I think it is important to focus on those types of events, the ones that inspire Hope and Peace, and don’t get me wrong, there are all sorts of wars still being waged all over the world. But drop back into that space of Armistice, Hope and Peace – it is sooooo possible on every level in this world (at least that is my belief).

The other day I was in a grocery line up, with my butternut squash, Brussels and cheese (won’t that make an interesting meal), and wearing the Poppy that I always do for Remembrance Day – in fact this year I have bought 5 as I keep losing them or they dropped off. As I’m waiting in line for my turn the chap behind me started a rather odd debate with me about the wearing of a Poppy. He shared that he refused to wear one as it was a symbol of death to which I totally, 100% disagree. The Poppy to me is a symbol of Remembering those who bravely went to fight for our freedoms and well being. It is also a symbol of Hope, hope for our troops that are still deployed all over the world and Hope for a time of Peace. If you don’t know the story of the Poppy I felt compelled to go learn as much as possible and there is a great post here. As someone who was in the Military reserves and a reserve police officer and also having friends who were or still are in the military, let alone a father who was and a grandfather, I feel very strongly about the respect and honour that is due to those sacrifices and those that are still away from home.

Yesterday I went to a, new to me, Remembrance Day service in a community nearby and I have to say, the minute the bagpipes started playing I turned into a weeping person! There is something about the sound of bagpipes that pulls at my heart strings and dances through my soul and then tears start to flow! Does anyone else have this response? Because I was standing there with tears dripping down my face and not a tissue in sight! (This is where my mother’s voice kicks in and reminds me to always carry tissues upon one’s person.)

Today as I was talking to the cards and asking who would like to be present, the conversation with the gentleman in the grocery store burbled up and it really got me to thinking about Peace and Hope. So as I went for my early morning loop and yomp onto the beach, that conversation burbled and burbled some more and there was a feeling of defiance towards the gentleman who had declared the poppy as bad! When I came home feeling ocean refreshed and calm the deck that really bolted to the forefront was the Wild Kuan Yin Oracle. Now if this deck is new to you, or you can’t remember what it is about, let me tell you it is delicious. It is a very loving deck that is filled with divine defiance and an untamed heart – helping us humans move from conditioning to wild divinity. “Great spiritual beings are frequently known to thwart convention, not simply for the sake of it, but because they live in a reality beyond the limited mindsets of mainstream culture. They know that life is not what mainstream culture believes it to be. Within every human heart is the potential to take such a wild divine leap, but the courage it takes to break free from conditioning and stand apart from the crowd is enormous. There are challenges along the way, and yet the lure of freedom is so strong at a certain point on the spiritual path. There is a hunger for living beyond what we are told is possible, passionate push from the soul to live according to inner truths rather than social and cultural conditioning.” Thus, if this resonates for you, come along……. I will also say these are the hardest cards to take a picture of!

The crystals that wanted to join in are Ruby Zoisite, Cinabrite and Malachite – yes they do all end in “ite”. Oh yes, some of the beach treasures and the most bizarre piece of a Monkey Tree wanted to come join as well!

Before you pick a card I want you to allow in Peace. What is Peace? What does Peace within you, Peace from you and Peace all surrounding you look and feel like to you? So I invite you to take a moment, just a moment and breathe with that. As you take a glorious deep breath in through your nose vibrate the word Peace in your mind and as you exhale through an open mouth send out the intention of Peace & Hope to whomever or whatever you choose. Keep breathing in this way and repeating the vibration of Peace within you, Peace from you and Peace and Hope gently surrounding you. When you feel ready, gently open your eyes pick your card/cards and let’s go see who wants to come be with you this week.

THE SNOW SHEPHERDESS

I come to you with news of unexpected life. Something that seemed once impossible, without energy or hope of success, is coming to life. Not only is this an unexpected happening but it will be taking place when you think it is least likely. I come with the decree that life shall have its way, no matter what circumstances appear to dictate, and in the midst of great loss, scarcity or denial of life, a blessing of abundance, fertility and new beginnings will be given. So it shall be, by divine decree.

Life has its own power to prevail. Whilst abundance may be more obvious when we are in feast instead of famine, or in a lush jungle instead of a desert (whether or not an oasis looms over the next sandhill), life will happen even in the most unlikely situations. The small green shoot that sprouts out of a crack in a city pavement is an expression of life’s bold, prevailing will.

Your job is to not lose yourself in doubt, nor to grow attached to a particular outcome. It is to be curious and patient, to go about your life with the silent expectation within your heart that, somehow, things are going to work out – in ways you cannot necessarily see, sense or feel at the moment. Being told there will be a surprise doesn’t negate the surprise, but it does give us a chance to ignite hope which softens disappointment and despair. It allows us to have the courage to trust in what is coming, not enslaved by what has or has not had a chance to be.

Whatever it is you are dreaming or imagining, no matter how improbable it seems, how at odds with logic it may appear to be, or however many people look at you like you are mad when you share your dream with them – believe. Put your faith in life. Let go of how and when, but do not let go of your dream. Let life manifest it for you through its natural power, which is considerable, and its natural impulse towards growth.

THE PRINCESS OF RED POPPIES

I dwell in an expansive reality, beyond time and space, where the past has been, the future is yet to be, and what stretches out in all directions, with unlimited potential, is this living radiant moment. Sometimes we need to make peace with the past by working through its nuances and recognise what we have learned and how we have grown. ANCHOR TO FLY

You dream of taking flight, of living with a heart free to soar, your whole being unfettered by restraint as you rise up to meet your destiny. You yearn to experience the next exhilarating level of your life expression, your path, your dreams. And so you shall. Trying to escape the world by hovering above it doesn’t help us bring our dreams to life. Fantasies, where the mind takes flight, can become the seeds of truly inspired ideas, but to transform those inspirations into reality we need to be grounded. What this means is putting in the time and effort for taking practical steps towards our goals. That does not include attempting to control life – including other people and their choices, or the timing of how and when the events in our life unfold. It does include completing tasks to the best of our ability and consciously choosing to let go if we find we are trying to force something to happen, trusting in the loving genius of a great and benevolent universe that wants our divine fulfillment to manifest.

Being grounded though doesn’t mean we give up desire and effort to learn how to take flight. What is meant by taking flight is the ability to feel free, to feel unfettered by negativity or doubt, to feel as though we are hurtling towards our destiny under the guardianship and guidance of the Divine, dreaming up beautiful, wild, exalted visions of delicious possibility with absolute trust. It is an exhilarating feeling of freedom, joy and expansiveness. It feels like flying!

When we do everything within our power to succeed whilst dropping all attachment, we are grounded and we can fly successfully. Without the effort, we waft away from the earth like a lost kite. Without detachment, we cannot rise from the earth and become weighed down by a distrustful need to control. We need the combination of effort and letting go with trust to become anchored enough to truly fly. Your heart is ready for this unconditional trust and the sense of lightness, freedom and joy it brings.

Have confidence in yourself and your work, in what you are capable of doing in the physical world. The desires you wish to manifest are placed in your heart for good reason. To bring them to life requires that you use all your skills and abilities. Don’t pull back from the challenge of that growth. Become so free of mind that whether your success comes to you in a few moments from now, or in a year or more, it matters not to you. You can make such a choice. And the more you let go, becoming light of mind, the more you can fly and the swifter your journey shall unfold. Let your head connect to the unlimited inspiration of the heavens and your feet stay grounded upon the earth, and enjoy your spiraling outwards into ever-increasing life, love and manifestation of your dreams – all whilst being guided and assisted by the Divine Mother.

Oh my gosh, I love how the cards reflect what is happening or the choices that are available. Life Prevails, Release the Past, Ground and Anchor. These are all conundrums that I am sure we have all experienced at one point or another. Interesting to see that the releasing the past with blessings involves poppies! That made me grin from ear to ear. So delicious lovely, I wish you a glorious week of waxing moon energy and the threads of Peace and Hope to weave through your day to day. Remember to breathe, smile as often as possible (it has a bigger impact than eating 100 chocolate bars!), move your body and offer out Peace, Hope and Love to all you meet this week. New Moon in Scorpio, November Energy Shift to Truth, Chaos & Mayhem and Candles!

Happy Magnificent, Magickal, Manifesting, Majestic, Major, Malleable, Matchless first Monday of November! How has your week been delicious one? How was Halloween/Samhain for you? I have so much I want to share with you about the New Moon, the Energy for November and all sorts of random deliciousness, thus this post might be a tad long. So let’s start with the energy of November.

Every month has a different energy or theme to it. If you remember October was:- Taking Inventory, and September was:- Restructure and Recalibrate. Well this month, November, has the interesting theme of TRUTH. As Lena Stevens shares:- “We focus on truth this month as an energy with the opportunity to tap into a greater and higher truth as well as to discover our own truth on many levels allowing us to speak and make choices from our own truth rather than a truth we don’t resonate with. You could witness great polarity as one person’s truth is never completely the same experience as another person’s truth. You will also see posturing around judgment masquerading as truth. If there was ever a month to “not take things personally”, this would be it.

We need to differentiate here between truth and beliefs. Truth is an energy that is experienced in the higher mind and the higher intellectual center. Beliefs are how the intellectual center or the mind processes information, giving that information a definition to more easily organize it for understanding life experiences and events. Beliefs are structured from patterns we came in with as well as our imprinting and what we choose to learn and believe over our lifetime.

Truth is an experience of inner knowing and requires trusting our intuition. Truth is often not able to be explained intellectually and has to do with instinctive and emotional reactions rather than anything we had the time to “think through”. We know when we have not listened to our inner truth that things can go badly – “If we had just listened to our intuition”.

So there we have the shamanic energy imprint for November and if we look at the month of November from an Astrological point of view, it’s a chaotic, tumultuous energy month where a lot is happening all at once and this can lead to feeling off balance, out of kilter and a tad messed up. For November you can expect big changes, liberation from fear, awakenings, changes of fortune and chances to get lucky. Now why is it so tumultuous you may ask? Good question grasshopper. Well, Uranus is essentially moving backwards from the sign of Taurus to Aries, now in case you have forgotten, Uranus is the planet of chaos and change (getting the feeling now?) On top of that Jupiter is changing signs and moving from Scorpio to Sagittarius. We also will see a Mercury retrograde coming up and all sorts of various other aspects. So what the heck does this all mean? If you feel that you are caught up in the “Universal Washing Machine” and it all feels a bit out of control, then you are feeling the energy of it all. Now don’t fret because we have an invitation to look at the truth of it all for ourselves and to really welcome in big, true, positive change and liberation. A perfect time to do this would be the New Moon that happens on Wednesday.

Now this delicious New Moon is in Scorpio and she invites you to tune into the wisdom and love that resides inside your heart and soul. You are going to be encouraged to view things from the heart and to find love, compassion, and empathy not just towards others, but also towards yourself. Showing yourself love and compassion is the ultimate spiritual practice, and will help you to find your confidence, raise your vibration, and live a more fulfilling life. The benefits of self-love are really endless.

On this New Moon, really make it a point to be extra kind to yourself. Hold yourself close to your heart, and be gentle and loving in what you say and what you think. Even if negative thoughts creep in, try to remind yourself that you are on a journey of learning and growing, and there is no need for you to have a “perfect” life. So give yourself a little time on Wednesday to take this energy and plant your New Moon wishes.

So there we have it, a lot is unfolding this month my delicious lovely, but it’s all going to be really delicious (honest). I’ve already been feeling the shift in energy and the planetary movement as I have to say this has been a rather surreal week for me, kind of like dancing with the thin veil and actually giving myself permission to BE in that space for a few days and not get trapped in the DO space (although lots got done lol).

On Tuesday I was tapped, like tapped on every layer and level as I had been a tad negligent about recharging my batteries, so I stayed in bed for the morning (which was delicious) and literally had those dreams that feel like fever induced. Do you know what I mean? They are cool, but weird, but there’s a message, but their weird. Yes? Or is that just me? I decided to actually work the energy of the waning moon and she did not disappoint. Now, if you don’t know what that means, it’s all about creative, nourishing time, lucid dreaming time and getting ready to act when New Moon comes. When I finally surfaced I realised that energetically I had to clean and cleanse my house. So I mixed up some rosemary, geranium, lemon and lavender and created a place that felt good on all levels, then went to the ocean, picked a bunch of rocks and gridded the space with intention. (Now I know that may sound odd, but it really isn’t.)

I then lit a lovely fat candle and just sat for a bit and breathed in the shift and change, the peace and ease that now exuded into the space. As I sat looking at the lovely candle and it’s dancing flame on the mantelpiece it got me thinking about candles (as one does). I realised that I use candles daily. I use them in ritual, I light one every day in my home with the blessing “For home, hearth, health, harmony and happiness”. At birthday’s there are candles galore, on the cake, on the table – everywhere. When I receive news that literally brings me to my knees I will light a candle. When I am sending a blessing, a prayer or a bubble of healing energy – I will light a candle. Am I the only one in this? Do you light candles for all sorts of reasons?

For the whole of last week I played with the waning energy of the moon and allowed myself to just BE in that space of inward reflection, nurturing and cocoon like, it was fabulous! On the weekend my niece and were meant to go for a big explore, however, a close family friend who had been my niece’s surrogate gran had passed on Friday, so we decided maybe a huge explore in the rain is not the most nurturing thing we could do. Thus, guess what we did? We went to a glorious cathedral, you know the type with all the amazing stained glass windows and vaulted stone ceilings? The type where you push open the large, heavy wooden doors and there is a sense of hush and peace? As we walked in the air was so still and calm and we soon found banks and banks of candles waiting to be lit. Thus, we lit some candles, offered up blessings and then just sat quietly on a pew and let the whispers rise to the vaulted ceiling. It was quite lovely (but see what I mean about candles?) We then went for a big walk along the breakwater that juts out into the ocean and as we walked we were delighted to see that we were being accompanied by six swimming seals! They were quite magnificent and they swam alongside where we were for a good kilometer, quite awe inspiring. We ended up our little jaunt sitting in Murchies tea house with a large piece of cake each and great big mugs of pumpkin spice latte, reminiscing and sharing stories of the lovely woman and the different roles she had played in both of our lives. So all in all it was a really nice day of honouring, remembering, healing and moving with the energy as opposed to forcing something.

Okay, now I have chuntered on a tad too much, so let’s crack on with the reading. The cards that wiggled, jiggled and danced to come and support this week are The Lightworker Oracle. Now, if you have never worked with this deck, she is really quite divine. She is for anyone who wants to connect with divine light, accelerate their spiritual evolution and develop their connection with higher spiritual guidance. Yes? The crystals that literally danced their way out of there gorgeous resting spot are:- Brecciated Jasper, Rhyolite and Sodalite. Of course the autumn leaves needed to be involved as they wanted to provide you with a colourful backdrop. I did get an interesting download for a guided visualisation yesterday, thus, there is one if you feel inclined. Its quite an interesting one and I was thrilled to receive it. TRUST IN THE PLAN

In preparation for radical growth, there can be temporary disorder and chaos. Whilst the mind may worry that something is going wrong, the spirit knows that this is a way for the old to disassemble so the new can be formed. Although you may feel out of control during such times, you do not need to resist the process. There is no need to attempt to impose your own sense of order upon the greater plan. You do not need to seek solutions, for there is no problem here in need of solving. What has been is being cleared away in preparation for the next chapter in your life. Have faith. All is well.

Do not fear. You may see the life you have known appears to be ending. You may find that the things you used to do or the way you used to think no longer seem as relevant as they once were. You may feel your relationships and friendships are changing. Some may even be ending. Perhaps you find you no longer have the energy or motivation to keep certain relationships going in your life.

However, your energy is meant to be withdrawing from what it once supported. This is not an abandonment or betrayal. It is not selfish. It is honest. When you trust in your spiritual growth, all that happens is love. That means that even an apparent loss always serves love, whether that is immediately obvious or not. It is sometimes necessary for both parties to become free to live their true destiny.

Life is a loving, creative journey for your soul. That means there will be times when the very thing you have worked towards needs to crumble, so that the next evolution of your soul manifestation upon the earth can take place. You are divinely scheduled to evolve at this point in your life. Can you sense an exciting growth phase happening for you? There is another way for you to live, to be, to thrive and love in this world, and you are rapidly heading towards it. This is a time to surrender control and allow a higher power to direct your course. Many exciting new opportunities, situations and connections will come into your life as a result of what you are experiencing now. It is all part of a greater divine intelligence unfolding in loving service to your own sacred life path. Trust in an unfolding higher plan. Know that all changes in your life serve your higher good.

Divine feminine wisdom empowers you to grow into your vision, your dreams and the fulfillment of your life purpose. Perhaps you envision a very different life for yourself to what you are experiencing now. Surrender any plans about how you can best manifest your dreams and, instead, allow life to guide and nourish you through your experiences each day. EARTH HEALING

You are making a real contribution to the planet through your spiritual journey. Remember this and believe that your needs will be generously met by the earth and the Universe. What you are doing matters, and you will be supported.

The earth recognises you. She sees you as a conduit through which she is fed higher frequencies of light, love and divine presence. This assists her on the journey of her own evolution. Earth is an exceptionally beautiful and powerful divine being in her own right. Yet she, like every other being, benefits from the assistance of higher frequencies, which offer a loving hand to help raise her vibration and continue her evolution.

You are here to have your spiritual life journey in a human body. Part of that process will involve sharing your light with the earth, itself. This may see you take on the role of a healer, guide, mentor or teacher to others on the path. It may see you doing work with the natural world, with various earth-centred causes such as conservation and animal-welfare, organic and biodynamic farming and ethical food production. It may involve an active prayer life that is ongoing through your day, praying for assistance, compassion, clearing and blessing when you see and accident on the road, an animal or person who seems to be suffering, or an item on the news that you know needs light and healing.

From the most obvious gestures to the more subtle, you are powerful enough to make a meaningful contribution to the quality of consciousness upon Earth. Earth asks you to do your work with quiet confidence and dedication. She gives thanks for all you have done and acknowledges her love for you. She will support you in your work by providing material means for you, whilst you are here on this planet. What you are doing matters. Yes, you are going to expand and grow in the work you are doing and the impact that you have in the world, because you are capable of that. Keep working, shining and growing, dear one. Your presence here is so needed and honoured.
